The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon / Danny Elfman (singing))

20101209:
I realized at around 7:25PM that the movie was planned to start at 7PM. Of course, I've seen the movie before, I simply wanted to come to watch what I could in 35mm. I came in at the point where Jack was bringing back items from Christmas Town. I was actually pretty tired and fell asleep through bits and pieces. Again, it wasn't a big deal, because I've seen the movie before.

Sally (Catherine O'Hara)

[20101210]

20131011:
Without notes to accompany the screenshots, I'm guessing (20151006) that I simply had the movie play in the background while doing something else. In particular, I listed the movie under "Movies Watched in 2013".

Mayor of Halloween Town (Glenn Shadix)

[20151006]

20151006:
Today I watched this movie on Netflix, and while I own a DVD collector's edition of the movie, I unfortunately didn't have it with me.

20171118:
Watched with Blake.
20211002, 20211003:
Watched with my son.
Instant Comments:
7a: Hehe. The prize goes to the vampires and runner up to the leeches.
5: It's interesting that they show Sally, but she doesn't sing in the first number. So a viewer wouldn't necessarily notice her on the first viewing, at least not until the number is over.
5: I love the line with "Shakespearean quotations"

5, 6: "Three times."; 7: hehe, "three times" she corrects him
7a: I don't understand why he dismissed Sally's suggestion to make another; seems logical enough
5: Themes from "What's This" play prior to Jack entering the entrance of Christmas Town.
6: Jack tried to walk away from the Christmas Town door but got pulled in by the draft.
6: A Christmas Carol, Rudolph
5: The Scientist Method
6: What. How does a spider come out of that cut.
5: Those experiments... "Interesting reaction... but what does it mean?"

Oogie Boogie (Ken Page)

5, 6: That jump.
6: "Chestnuts" divided by "Open Fire", read as "Chestnuts over open fire."
7a: (paused a little after the Easter Bunny is to be returned, "take him back!"
6: (Blake paused during "Making Christmas")
6: I didn't know where I recognized the cat. In this scene with Sally, I realized the cat looked like the cat from Coraline (also directed by Henry Selick).
7b: "Sally's Song" is sad. I feel as if I never realized this before.
5: On the policeman's legal pad is a game of tic-tac-toe. Did he play a game by himself?
7b: One of my favorite scenes is the head being pulled out.
5: Scary Teddy and Undead Duck.
7b: This scene with Jack versus Oogie Boogie is less exciting than I remember. In particular, what are the implications of Oogie Boogie being composed of many bugs. It's a fun ending, but was there any foreshadowing in regards to his composition?

Evil Scientist (William Hickey) and Sally.

5=20151006, 6=20171118, 7a=20211002, 7b=20211003

I'm pretty sure I've seen this movie at least three times before. At least once in 2009 and at least twice when I was a kid.
