The Elephant Man (1980)

20101206:
Scenes were beautifully done.

You have to be ready to watch an emotional film. It hardly has any lighthearted scenes at all. Emotions you might feel are pity, happiness in a sad way, relief, and anger. A scene is either heavy or provides relief, but never comic relief, just relief from that which was heavy.

Overall the movie was great, but emotionally sad. I'll need to watch a lighthearted movie after this.

Wow... the scene at 50 min with the 23rd psalm.
The scene where John cries and then when the doctor's wife cries... Wow... so much emotion in this film.
"I wish I could sleep like normal people."
Romeo and Juliet.
I wonder how many people understand this: "People are frightened by what they don't understand."
Haha, how embarassing for the guy on the governing committee who said he shall not be swayed.
John Merrick's room looks marvelous.
Oi... I really dread what kind of trouble this up-to-no-good security man or whoever will cause.
Jeez...
"I am not an animal... I am not an animal... I am a human being..."
Wow, to see his name spelled at 1:55 and his completed cathedral...
What an ending...
