It was interesting to see what a horse might have to go through. Though I imagine the book is a lot more meaningful and has a deeper plot. In any case, the movie somewhat captures the idea that animals should be treated with respect.

David Thewlis comes in at 1:00:00. He's hardly recognizable, as he looks so different than the way he appears in Harry Potter. Huh, I didn't realize he played a character in The Big Lebowski (1998).
Interesting line: People aren't just cruel to each other, they're also heartless to each other.
By now I've seen most of Caroline Thompson's work (titles with her involvement).
