20101212:
I watched this movie today, because I just had to go through and watch all the Superman movies. Unfortunately, this movie wasn't as great as the first two, Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980).
In particular, the bad guy of this movie was lame. Gus was cool though.
Overall, Superman III was an okay movie and I would recommend it for the following reasons: 1) you like Superman, 2) you're a completion nut and have to watch all of the movies in a series,* 3) you like comic book heroes, and 4) if you have time to spare.
*I heard Godfather III isn't that great, but I'd probably watch III after watching II just to complete the series.

20170217:
Rated by Netflix for me at 2.2. Yeah... that's about right.
Instant Comments:
2: "Earn big money. Become a computer programmer."
1: I thought perhaps Superman handed the kid the wrong half of the photo booth pictures, but in fact he handed the kid the correct half (him as Superman).
1: The beginning of the movie (when all the mayhem happens) is ridiculously bad.
2: Why is the beginning of the film (opening credits) so campy?
2: Why would channeling all half cents even be an option. Unless that was something he coded up.
1: That's interesting! Annette O'Toole was Lana Lang in Superman III and Martha Kent in Smallville.
The wikipedia article for Lana Lang said the following: "In an interview for the documentary Look Up In The Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman, O'Toole states that the producers of Smallville (where she plays Clark's own adoptive mother, Martha Kent) were not aware that she had appeared in Superman III until after she was cast in the TV series."
1: Haha, Lorelei secretly reading Kant. Oh right, earlier she knew without hesitation that Superman's weakness is kryptonite, but then masked her intelligence.
2: She attempted to hide the book under a pillow, but kicks the pillow away anyways.
2: Gus pulls out blueprints for a computer and Webster asks what it is. The editing quickly cuts from the group to Lorelei and she says, "A computer." It then abruptly cuts back to the group, and the discontinuity in Lorelei's position is obvious.
2: I suppose such a supercomputer would sort of be like Brainiac, except not.
1: Superman getting drunk seems ridiculous to me.
2: Lois's suntan.
2: Ha. Fixes the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
