This was definitely better than the last movie. More focused, more development of characters. More action. It also removes the excessive humorous aspect of the Star Trek III (1984) and Star Trek IV (1986). Or perhaps just IV, I'm not remembering III that well. Anyways, I liked it better than III. It might have been equal to IV. IV was the one with Catherine Hicks and the whales. Thus so far Star Trek V (1989) is the worst, VI and IV tied for best, Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) is second worst, and III is in the middle. The last of the original cast and crew I need to watch is Star Trek II (1982).
Great ending.
