I loved the mood of the movie and Tim Burton is great.
One detail I enjoyed were Ichabod's various contraptions.
Another detail I enjoyed were the bloody scenes. The movie executed them well - at least by the criterion that it doesn't disgust me and that the blood was clearly fake. In being unrealistic, the movie was more enjoyable; there's a separation between fiction and reality.
While the film certainly wasn't a masterpiece, I enjoyed it for the atmosphere.

Recently I've been more interested in rewatching movies I had already seen than movies I have yet to see. However, among the various choices, it's interesting that - without purposely doing so - 3 of the 7 were directed by Tim Burton and a fourth which was produced and conceived by him.*
In any case, I enjoyed Johnny Depp's performance as Ichibod Crane and the overall dark atmosphere of the movie.
*The seven movies were Corpse Bride (2005), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Batman Begins (2005), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Batman (1989), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), and Sleep Hollow (1999).
