Duck Soup (1933)

Vera Marcal (left), Mrs. Teasdale (center), and Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho Marx) (right).

20101205:
The beginning wasn't that funny. Groucho Marx playing Rufus T. Firefly makes a bunch of remarks that are meant to be witty and sarcastic, but aren't. But soon enough there are several funny bits. One particularly funny scene was when Harpo and Groucho are at it in the mirror scene. Overall it's a different style of humor than modern-day comedies.

Chicolini (Chico Marx) and Pinky (Harpo Marx) check the phone
for Ambassador Trentino (Louis Calhern).

20131102:
Watching the movie for a second time, I found that, in contrast to my previous viewing, I enjoyed the beginning of the movie as much as the rest of it.

Pinky (Harpo) (left) is dressed as Firefly and comically imitates Firefly's movements as if a mirror were between them.
