It's been a while since I've watched Naruto, and I figured a good way to work up to watching more Shippuden episodes would be to watch the first three Naruto movies.
I enjoyed watching this first one. Story-wise it is cohesive with the Naruto storyline and could have easily fit into the anime as a filler.
Remark: After I watched this movie, I wondered about the difference between television and movie as media formats. In particular, I couldn't help but think of season 5 of Futurama: four sets of four episodes, where each set of four episodes comes from a movie.
Netflix determined the movie for me as a 78% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.
