20170611:
I first became familiar with Tyler Labine for his role in television series Dead Last (2001) where he and his bandmates help ghosts with their unfinished business. I later saw him in television series Reaper (2007-2009). In any case, I had added Tucker & Dale vs. Evil to My List simply out of face recognition; I would probably not have added it otherwise.
In any case, I generally enjoyed this film. While technically part of both the comedy and horror genres, it definitely leans more towards comedy than horror; when it comes to the horror genre, I typically watch the ones that aren't so scary (e.g., Sleepy Hollow, Tusk). In fact, this movie felt so far from being a horror, that I would not have personally classified it as one - even after watching it.
With that being said, I would have enjoyed the film more if I had known and viewed it as a comedy horror.
Overall, I would recommend the film to anybody looking for a comedy and doesn't mind some blood.
Netflix determined the movie for me as a 84% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.
Instant Comments:
Ha. Panic on the beer.
Smile. Holding the scythe.
Ha. The inhaler after the joint.
I like how they play the scary music, even though we already know Tucker & Dale didn't do anything.
"Just shut up and walk, bitch." Takes a puff of the inhaler.
Dang. He impaled himself.
Holy crap. When the cop impaled himself. Which the thing was, of course that was going to happen, but what it was like when it happened.
Hahaha. "You got to take the safety off on the side there."
What did he cut? [They show us later.]
Haha. "Wait a minute [...] Stockholm Syndrome."
Starts before he was born... [It turns out it was the story he told to his friends]
Lol. The series of killings.
The inhaler.
Hahahaha. That cheesy punchline. "It's true, Chad. You're half hillbilly."
Lol. The girl's ring finger instead of his own.
They didn't explicitly bring the movie back to the beginning.
