Chinese Zodiac (2012)

JC a.k.a. Martin (Jackie Chan)

20170605:
I'm not sure why this movie has such bad reviews. It's a good Jackie Chan film, with respect to the action, especially compared to many of the films he's done in recent years.

As for the movie's plot, there were various points which I had difficulty understanding; for example, the duplication of the antiques. With that being said, the plot was good enough to support the film.

Bonnie (Lanxin Zhang)

Overall, if you enjoyed movies where Jackie Chan is doing a bunch of stunts such as jumping through hoops and rolling every which way, I would highly recommend Chinese Zodiac. In particular, somehow

Netflix determined the movie for me as a <56%* match. I decided to give the movie a thumbs up.**

*With the first movie without a match percentage being 1st, Chinese Zodiac was 4th out of 56 items with hidden match percentages.
**While I would not have given the film a thumbs up with respect to other films I have thus far given a thumbs up, I made an exception for this film because it failed to break 56% match and I generally love Jackie Chan's movies.

JC and Vulture (Alaa Safi) in an innocuous fight between rivals.

Instant Comments:
Cool opening escape sequence.
Haha. No batteries.
Lol. It suddenly becomes easier than they expected. (Getting Coco's cooperation)
Haha. In unison, "Barbecue."

Coco (Helen Yao)

Hahahaha. Each one looks for an excuse to leave. "Dolphins." "Whales, too." "Crocodiles!"
Ha. Gives a good speech, throws the bar into the ocean. And then when the girl left, "Get the coordinates. Come on."
That's a good choreographed sequence (couch fight).
Awww. She saved her.
Wait, when he addresses the big boss as "Dad," does he literally mean "Dad"? I suppose he's adopted?

Left to Right: Simon (Kwon Sang-woo), David (Fan Liao), JC, Coco, Bonnie, and Catherine (Laura Weissbecker)

Wow. That skydive.
Ha. Purple.

Credits:
Bloopers and other behind-the-scene footage.
I'm glad they showed how they did the skydiving scene.

"Even machines understand me."
Clips and bloopers from many of his older movies.
I suppose part of that is to show viewers how dangerous stunt work can be.
