20170621:
I've seen this movie once before and it's been sitting in my Netflix My List for a while now. I suppose, without realizing, that I watch dramas less frequently than I watch action movies. Perhap because the former is more mentally exhausting than the latter.
In any case, at just over two hours, Million Dollar Baby tells a story containing a wide variety of themes.
By the time I finished the movie, there was no doubt in my mind that I enjoyed watching it. I would highly recommend it.
Netflix determined the movie for me as a 90% match. I decided to give the movie a thumbs up.
Instant Comments:
Damn. "You let him hit you."
Narrator sounds like Morgan Freeman, but perhaps with a slighter faster pace and deeper than I'm used to hearing
Ha. He's asking about the Trinity.
"There are no Demigods you fucking Pagan."
Oh, there's Morgan Freeman. He's using an in-character voice.
"I saw your last fight, Shawrelle. Spent so much time face down I thought the canvas had titties."
Wow. She's 31. Same age as me. Becoming a boxer is definitely ambitious. Such a story wouldn't be impossible, but ambitious nonetheless.
I remember this part where she wins all her first few matches with knockouts.
Oh wow. That's disheartening (her mom's comments regarding the house and general lack of support)
"One-hundred and ten. Get a job, punk."
Sciatic nerve.
Oh, I was wondering earlier which movie the sideways chair was in.
Ha. "You didn't win. I don't have to tell you."
