Iron Man 3 (2013)

20150330:
Today was my first time watching Iron Man 3 and I thought it was great. Part of what made the movie good was all the cool action sequences which made use of Tony Stark's most recent suit model.

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)

I didn't understand why Stark never had the shrapnel removed before, but I read a good explanation online. The explanation has to do with Stark keeping the reactor due to his attachment to the suit. However, towards the end of the movie, he realizes he doesn't need the suit (in particular, the suits power themselves and almost operate themselves).

He also realizes that he's Iron Man, not the suit. Interestingly, in the middle of the movie, he states that he's Iron Man, but the kid convinces him otherwise. In any case, upon making this realization, Stark is able to let go of the electromagnet and have surgeons remove the shrapnel.

Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow)

Overall, I like Iron Man 3 more than Iron Man 2 (2010) but not as much as Iron Man (2008).

Instant Comments:
He told Rhodes that all the suits called in were only tailored to him. However, there was one that Pepper was able to operate near the first part of the movie, at least partially. Is there an explanation or is it movie magic? [20180717: Either he was lying or he could have coded the suit to respond to Pepper]

That was a good ending (to the fight between Stark and Guy Pierce).

Credits:
Lol. Best after the credits scene among the Marvel movies I've seen. Apparently Stark was telling the story not to us the audience, but to Banner. Who fell asleep at the elevator part. "I'm not that kind of doctor."
