This is my first time seeing The Whole Nine Yards and I was hoping that it would be more of a thriller. Instead, it turned out to be more of a comedy and crime film. As such, while there may or may not be any plot twists, there is neither (much) action nor suspense.
Expecting one type of movie and getting another is always a bit of a drawback when it comes to the movie experience. Regardless, I would reiterate my previous comment and state that I find the movie monotone and straightforward.
For a movie that successfully mixes comedy and crime, I would recommend you check out Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).

Part of the credits run. Then a scene plays. The protagonist leaves home and on his way to work the opening credits resume.
