Galaxy Quest is a science fiction comedy film which is a parody of Star Trek and the sci-fi genre. As it happens, the last movie I watched, Last Action Hero (1993), was an action comedy film which parodies the action genre.

The former cast of a popular sci-fi television series called Galaxy Quest have been approached by an alien race called the Thermians for help. Having closely followed the show's broadcasts as if it were reality, the Thermians believe the cast are a legitimate space crew. As actors, the cast assume their former television roles, made possible due to the entire spaceship being designed after the show.

Alexander Dane (Alan Rickman), Gwen (Sigourney Weaver),
Tommy Webber (Daryl Mitchell), and Guy Fleegman (Sam Rockwell).

While I remembered watching Galaxy Quest once before, I had forgotten every single part of the plot. With that being said, I'm glad I decided to rewatch it, because it's actually not bad, especially if you've seen enough Star Trek movies to understand some of the references.

"Never Give Up, Never Surrender."

Of course, just in case you've never seen a Star Trek movie, its enough to understand that the bulk of Galaxy Quest is a parody of it.

Brandon (Justin Long)
In addition, the movie has enough original story to carry itself. If anything, after watching the movie, at least you can walk away with a new motto: "Never Give Up, Never Surrender."

Overall, Galaxy Quest is a funny, sci-fi adventure movie which I would recommend to fans of sci-fi and it would be cool if there were a sequel.

Her translator is broken.

"By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged!"

Lol. Just a little scrape. What a historical moment.
Those cheese and crackers.

Fred Kwan (Tony Shalhoub) happily eats his cheese and crackers.
"Could they be the miners?" "Sure, they're like three years old." "Miners, not minors." "You lost me."
"Did you guys ever watch the show?"
"But the animal is inside out." "And it exploded."
Oh, haha, he was just a kid when he was on the show. "Pedal to the medal, commander."

"Oh, that's not right."

"By Grabthar's hammer... what a savings."

"It always stops at 1 on the show."
"Give him a hand, he's British."
