Gone with the Wind (1939)

20100607:
The movie was great, with most of the dialogue and drama being entertaining. It definitely requires being in the right mood.

Scarlett is an interesting character, because she has a difficult time with love and seems to be surrounded by death. The movie ends on a note that leaves the viewers with room for interpretation.

The best part of the movie is having it take you through the time period surrounding the Civil War. I really can't find any complaints about the movie, except perhaps the character Prissy being excessively annoying.

In the end, it's worth watching at least once, but prepare yourself, because it's a four-hour movie! Fortunately, there is an intermission.

Scarlett: As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.
Finished intermission at about 1:45 PM. Note: I paused the movie every so often.

Rhett: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
Scarlett: Tara! Home. I'll go home. And I'll think of some way to get him back. After all... tomorrow is another day.
The End.

Special Features:
I went through the trivia on disc 2. Half of them are terribly hard.
I watched the theatrical trailer on disc 1. The theatrical trailer was a narrator talking over pages being turned in a book with the names of the actors and actresses. I suppose that's how it was done in those days.
