Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

20100629:
I'm not sure if the book was only set in the past or if like the movie, switched between the past and present, but I did read that the movie made the relationship between Idgie and Ruth less explicit and that it changed the ending.

The majority of what made the movie good was set in the past, but there were some good laughs from the present.

Character development happened too quickly for me at the beginning. As such, I watched the first 10 minutes over after I completed the movie.

On a different note, the theme of feminine power was strong and well-displayed.

Personally, the only tear-jerking scene in this movie was when Idgie and Ruth were throwing the cans of food out of the train.

Overall, I enjoyed watching Fried Green Tomatoes.
