Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)

20100614:
This movie jumps around a little between past and present, and while there are visual cues to when these jumps take place, it was a strain for me to keep track and put events in their place. Perhaps I was a little sleepy.

I never really stopped to think about the Joker's origins. And this story makes an interesting one, for both the Joker and Batman. The movie never explicitly told the audience Batman's promise to his parents and/or why he made that promise. But I guess it's all implied.

Overall, I would say its an okay movie. Good watch if you're a fan of Batman. I liked Batman: Gotham Knight better.

Today (20100615) I found out that Mark Hamill has done a lot of voice acting after doing Star Wars. This movie was his first as Joker, but he goes on to do Joker's voice in a lot of Batman projects. As Josh mentioned yesterday (20100614), Hamill also did Hobgoblin's voice in Spider-Man.

The only bonus on the DVD was the theatrical trailer.
