I love the humor. Example: Italian? Yes. No. Yes. I love Italian, and so do you. Yes.
I love the playful direction of this movie compared to Star Trek III (1984).

The hospital scene was funny. In fact, the music playing during that scene sets the mood.

Don't the whales have to swim around?

Makes me excited to watch Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) and Star Trek II (1982), despite possibly those being lower rated movies. We'll see.
