20170521:
This movie had great animation. In fact, my fiancee Ada wasn't quite paying attention at the start and she thought it was a 2D anime that had suddenly consisted of real live actors, but a second look revealed it was just 3D animation.

In any case, while the animation was visually stunning and the movie was filled with a decent amount of action, the movie failed to flesh out some of the details.

After the movie, I read that Gantz: O was based on the manga series Gantz, so perhaps it assumed its viewers would know some /all of the background. However, the movie saves a revealing moment for the end, but that moment is only a surprise to anyone who is unfamiliar with the series.

With that being said, I wish I knew it was part of a series prior to watching the movie, but I suppose it stood enough on it's own that it didn't matter. And as such, I would recommend the movie within that context: it's a visually great movie which attempts be self-explanatory, but might actually benefit from some prior knowledge of the manga.

As a side remark, I'll be sure to put Gantz on my list of manga to read.

Netflix determined the movie for me as a 91% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

20171012:
The action in this movie was awesome.

Adam thought the same, specifically stating that the dialogue was at most average, but the action was well done.

2: "Do I look too young."
1: Why didn't the boss die the first time he was pounded? [That is, after the giant body composed of human bodies was crushed]
2: Funny English dialogue coming from Oka.
2: Blood oozes from his suit after he takes a hit.

1: Hmm. I think I understood the ending, but I'll have to watch that bit again. [Yeah, so the line is "You didn't tell Kato that he used to fight with us." The response was, "If I had, he'd fight to resurrect everyone who'd ever died in the game." She says, "You're right." Then he eventually says, "I never thought he'd be back!"
