The Fox and the Hound (1981)

20211107:
Overall the movie was less sad than I remembered it being. The story is also short, especially if removing the whole caterpillar side story.

Young Copper (Corey Feldman) and Young Tod (Keith Coogan)

Instant Comments:
Chief is the same dog voice in 101 Dalmations [Napolean, Pat Buttram]
This woodpecker is Tigger [Paul Winchell]
Young Tod: Copper, you're my best friend.
Young Copper: And you're mine too, Tod.
Young Tod: And we'll always be friends forever. Won't we?
Young Copper: Yeah, forever.

Chief (Pat Buttram), Amos Slade (Jack Albertson), and Widow Tweed (Jeanette Nolan)

Oh this is Piglet's voice, the porcupine [John Fiedler]
Oh Tod sounds like Wart from Sword in the Stone [but he's not, Wart is voiced by Rickie Sorensen].
Smile. "Six? Six what?"
Hmm the end is definitely not what I expected... I remembered the bear but I would have thought the hunter would have seen Tod rescue Copper... as it stands, Copper returned the favor for Tod and Amos backed off...
The ending was alright with Tod recalling their sentimental conversation (see blockquote above)

Big Mama (Pearl Bailey), Boomer (Paul Winchell), and Dinky (Dick Bakalyan)
