I watched this movie once before and remembering it as a love story compelled me to watch it again. I was, however, in for a bit of a surprise, because I only remembered the movie's primary plot twist and not its ending.
Of course, the movie's story is relatively unimportant, because the fighting sequences are such a pleasure to watch.
Overall, I like Andy Lau more in Shaolin (2011) and Ziyi Zhang more in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000).*
With that being said, House of Flying Daggers is a solid martial arts movie.
*I have yet to watch Infernal Affairs (2002) and I've been wanting to rewatch Hero (2002), but it's

I find it interesting that after observing her skill, that he would try to trick her. She would probably hear the difference between a real arrow striking and a fake arrow striking. Also, she would know where the arrows struck.
