Robin Hood (1973)

Robin Hood - A Fox
Prince John - A Lion
20140214:
While The Lion King (1994), Aladdin (1992), and Beauty and the Beast (1991) sit at the top of my favorite (classic) Disney movies, I find the songs in Robin Hood are almost as memorable.

Maid Marian - A Vixen (voiced by Monica Evans)
and Skippy - A Rabbit
In particular, I find I have a tendency to sing "Not in Nottingham" over any other Disney song. Though this may in part be due to the song's simplicity. If you've already heard the song before, then I would also recommend you listen to a cover of the song by folk rock band Mumford & Sons.

Sir Hiss - A Snake

Overall, if you enjoy older Disney movies, then you will probably enjoy Robin Hood. In fact, if you're a fan of The Jungle Book (1967) or The Aristocats (1970), then you should surely watch Robin Hood - look for the similarities.

Robin Hood and Little John - A Bear
Instant Comments:
1: "One more hiss out of you and you're walking to Nottingham." "Snakes don't walk, they slither. So there."
1: "Oh he's so handsome... just like his reward posters."
1: "Not much like Mr. Robin Hood."
1: "Shh. Mind your manners." "Yeah, mind your matters."

Sis, Tagalong, and Toby

2a: Paused after their escape. The love song is beginning. 2b: Resume. 35 minutes remaining. 1: This dance and song number is reminiscent of the dance and song number in The Aristocats (1970). [20140328: Apparently this was not a coincidence. See "First Remark" below][]
1: "Oh you got it all wrong Hiss!"
1,2: I love this song: "Not in Nottingham"

Sheriff of Nottingham - A Wolf

1: Haha. During the scene where Robin and Little John look to break out Friar Tuck, they sneak around and the music that plays is basically the same as that used in The Aristocats (1970) scene where Edgar sneaks around to retrieve his things. [20140328: Apparently this was not a coincidence. See "First Remark."]

Maid Marian and Robin Hood

First Remark: The Wikipedia article had this to say regarding "reuse of footage, sound, and voice actors": "As the film was allotted a small budget, the artists referenced footage from previous animated features. A dance sequence in the film was traced from sequences originally produced for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book, and The Aristocats."

Lady Kluck - A Chicken
Second Remark: Monica Evans and Carole Shelley appeared together in The Odd Couple (1968) and respectively voiced Abigail and Amelia in The Aristocats (1970) before respectively voicing Maid Marian and Lady Cluck in Robin Hood. Phil Harris, the voice of Little John, had previously voiced Baloo in The Jungle Book (1967) and O'Malley in The Aristocats.

Allan-a-Dale - The Rooster

Second Remark continued: Pat Buttram, the voice of the Sheriff of Nottingham, had previously voiced Napoleon in The Aristocats, and subsequently voiced Luke in The Rescuers (1977) and Chief in The Fox and the Hound (1981). The following are other voice actors in Robin Hood which have voiced at least one other Disney character: George Lindsey, Candy Candido, John Fiedler, Barbara Luddy, and J. Pat O' Malley.
