20101013:
From what I can remember, I've seen bits and pieces of this movie before on television.
In any case, I watched The Final Cut version today and enjoyed it.
In particular, I love how a lot of the scenes were filmed. On a related note, I enjoyed the lighting, the action, and the artistic vision of a futuristic setting.
With the exception of a couple of scenes, the movie was consistently top-notch. In addition, the music was equally good.
I'll have to watch the other versions some day.
Great Scenes:
I love the scene after the climax, the one with the dove.
The ending ending was good, too.

Great movie. I thought the "love" scene was a bit awkward but not enough to reduce below 5.0.
Rating: 5.0/5
Instant Comment:
1: From the moment I saw the eye at the beginning of the film, I asked myself if the protagonist would end up being a replicant. I'm not, however, sure why. Perhaps it was because I had seen bits and pieces of the movie before.*
3: the detective (?) puts down a little origami
3: "gift them" "memories, you're talking about memories"; I think gifting is interesting here. I don't think memories are important
3: another paper figure
3: what a haunting (?) scene. the antagonist speaks so slowly while the eye designer is freezing
3: philosophically... the moment one believes one is not a replicant and finds out one is... is kind of like... well I mean... in truth does it really matter? like sure it's a shock in the moment, but in the long run I feel like it's all the same. if say one day one woke up to realize what felt like a lifetime of experiences was a just a dream... it shouldn't really take away from the experience. though again, I can imagine the shock; in fact, there is often a certain amount of shock when waking from a dream
3: hehe. enhance

3: Amazing he was able to find her in the hustle and bustle
3: and he spots her again. he's good
3: so he knew from the moment she's running that she's a replicant?
3: the other replicant is there looking
3: ah. she has the tattoo
3: that blood entering the glass is nice
3: Knowing the ending, I feel like the blood is like a distraction though I guess the other replicant he shot had also bled?
3: "They're... classified" followed by "I... didn't look at them"
3: "Did you ever take that test yourself?"
3: thing is they want to live past their expiration, but even humans die...
3: he knew they were replicants with even having to do any tests... due to his expertise in engineering
3: truly peak steampunk. all this technology and no cameras in the elevators
2: That eye gouge; 3: yikes. that's crazy. I had to half look away
3: why would he feel compelled to also kill Sebastian?
3: huh. he pulls the veil off her as if he knows but doesn't shoot
3: huh. is it her hubris that she toys with him and backs up to attack him? why not just like choke him to death?
3: I think they zoom in because he would punch through the wall to grab the gun
3: wait so his ear bleeding means he did get shot?
3: oh or maybe he just had touched Pris and then brushed his ear
3: howling. that's very good howling
3: is it necessary to kill these replicants... they're going to expire anyways
3: his hand is seizing
3: that's a bit hypocritical speaking of unsportsmanlike. he killed Tyrell with a clear advantage... not sure what the sportsmanship in that would be
3: Hmm. I suppose Roy wouldn't really have any incentive to kill Deckard (he just saved him from the fall). He must realize at this point there's no hope for him to live. He went to Tyrell, the one person who could have given a solution.
3: beautiful speech. "... time to die."
3: the detective that's been making the little paper... "but then again who does?" (that's what I said!)
3: she knocks over the unicorn.
2: The unicorn. I explained the implication to Ada.
3: huh. reading my comment, I don't understand the implication. I suppose if I were to guess... He had dreamt of a unicorn. And perhaps that was an implanted memory. Implying that he is a replicant. But was Gaff placing those a pattern

*This reminded me of when I was watching a scary movie with my friends back in 2004. A character entered a barnyard, and I noticed a pitchfork in the background so I jokingly suggested the character was going to get stabbed with it. Then, one of my friends who had already seen the movie chided me for spoiling an upcoming scene. I had not, however, seen the movie before.
