ONE PIECE

20230925: Hmm just as Luffy commented that Zoro keeps saying he's a pirate hunter, Luffy keeps saying he's a pirate. I guess that's typical to have this type of parallel in a story.
S1E1:
hehe number 1
number 7
clearly this girl is faking it
at first Luffys personality is a bit mich but after his talk woth zoro it kind of grew on me
smile "kidding"
hmm I thought zoro would be skilled enough to take on morgan by himself
"That's where that goes" (third sword)
gum gum whip

S1E3:
hehe. everyday he just runs through the street yelling this?
hahaha. nice of Zoro to say it's unique
"Straw Hat" itself does have a nice ring. "Straw Hat Crew" maybe not so much
I assume this ship he laid his eyes on with the lamb's head is probably recognizable in the original anime
Go?
Seems like the butler controls things... Especially if Kaya likes Usopp but for some reason the staff are trying to keep them out
So rich, yet sick. How unfortunate.
Hmm. Luffy acknowledges Kami's plan to steal one as an alternative.
Huh. I'm curious if this tea is actually keeping her sick? (the butler comes to give her tea)
"You want to poison yourself?"
I wonder what the captain [Admiral Garp] sees in Koby, and teaching it through Go; I mean it's great for Koby's character arc, but it's not clear to me how the captain sees it
So the butler reveals his true self... but what does he gain from killing this financial manager? Also I do hope Kaya is freed from the poison
how is it possible no one's found the One Piece...
Hehe. Drink and midnight snack.
Good shot. Several corns into the pot.
Luffy comments on Usopp's shot
Oh no. Luffy's gonna drink the soup. Which is in a way also good... since presumably it won't kill him but will reveal the butler
Silly of the butler not to hide the body
Kuro. 16M
hmm. With Zoro knocked out... Why wouldn't they just kill him now?
LOL. Years of yelling pirates and now there really are pirates...

S1E4:
The symbol in the One Piece opening is probably for Zoro; I recall in a different episode the symbol was of a clown, which was probably for Buggy [looking at a YouTube video of the openings, the first was for Luffy (Straw Hat), the second was the clown for Buggy, the third is for Usopp; the "I" also sometimes changes; for Zoro's logo, it actually transitions from him looking up the well... that's so cool]
I find it strange they didn't just make sure Zoro was dead before throwing him down a well... After all... they're pirates. He had no qualm about killing Merry, why would he not kill Zoro?
At least they can escape through the passageways.
Why would Kuro call "Kaya, oh miss Kaya"? The expectation would be she is in bed. What he said would be appropriate only if he knew she had began hiding.
Interesting. He carries two blades. And the third white blade belongs to Kuina.
I'm guessing Kuina still wins. Unles he "accidentally" kills her and somehow regrets it which forms his backstory; I guess accidntally here means due to his lack of control
She is so skilled that she defeats Zoro without hurting him, even with katanas
She acknowledges an inherent biological disadvantage
Perhaps (as she asks if her parents would have been disappointed) the reason her parents died was at the hand of Kuro
The sword has a name: Wado Ichimonji. The sensei said it is rare. Curious that Kuina was then given it in the first place.
I guess the difficulty of Zoro climbing out of the well... they figured even if he was alive that he wouldn't get out
It's interesting tht the size of the sword remains the same despite their age and size [that is, as younger, shorter swordsmen in training, they are carrying the same length swords]
[I didn't have time to write this during the episode, but what Helmeppo said to Koby about Garp just using him... that would align with my questioning in episode 3 about what Garb sees in Koby - other than his tie with Luffy
LOL. What? Zoro was able to lift the security gate? What type of security is that? [I guess the only conclusion is that Zoro is unnaturally strong. I suppose that would also explain how he's able to hold a third sword in between his teeth]

"No. I'm done talking. Now I'm listening."
Though very curious. With such speed. Why Kuro wouldn't just directly approach Luffy and stab him.
He appears not to have any speed when throwing these stabs... [I feel it might be more fun to watch the anime where fights and fight mechanics are likely more teased out and explained]
Hehe. "Gum Gum... Bell" (cool headbutt)
Hmm... with the marines looking for Luffy, I'm not sure it makes sense that the shipyard is devoid of any marines on the lookout
LOL. "They do know I'm the captain, right?"
He hangs up his two black blades, but keeps Wado Ichimonji with him
LOL. It looks almost the same as Luffy's
Huh. Luffy says, "Grandpa?"
1=20231007

S1E5:
Hehe. "Alright, you brat. Have it your way."
His grandpa just straight up threw a cannonball at them.
They come nicely dressed
LOL. This can't have been the first time he's had to sit in a booth [well... perhaps it is possible]
Hehe. "You'll have to excuse them. They're idiots.
"Something wrong with your eye." "And a milk."
Whoa. Slices the ship in half from afar through the water.
17M.
Hmm. Zoro hasn't necessarily proven himself to be super great at swordfighting... at least not to best a Warlord (who we earlier saw slice a ship in half)
Where are they even going to fight?
After blurting out that Zoro is her friend... she can't possibly go through with leaving
"Though I do like your hat."
"I don't hunt rabbits with a cannon."
Hmm. Is the statement ("wounds on the back are a swordsman's greatest shame") to mean "kill me" or "mark me so that I may remember in the front"?
Hmm. Dracule Mihawk leaves them
1=20231007

S1E6:
In this opening, the head chef or whatever doesn't seem so bad.
I'm not sure the last episode had an intro. This one has a chef symbol. And a knife for the "I"
Smile. "Hell, no. That would be a waste of very good liquor."
"Why knows. Maybe your grandson will be the one to find the One Piece after all." (Mihawk knows Luffy is Garp's grandson)
HA! "the Waddy Itch Monkey"; Luffy is a good listener... and in the other episode, he recalled three different talking points regarding when he first met Zoro
Oh wow. Zeff is revealed to be a pirate
Hehe. Oregano. It seems here he still has his legs. When did he lose his leg?
Huh. How'd the manage to get on top of the rock?
Molded bread...
Wow. That's quite a twist. "There's no food. How are you still alive?"
Hehe. "You know what that's like? Having someone lose their limb to save your life?" "Actually I do."
Is Nami concerned about Luffy or the map? Well certainly it could be a mix.
Interesting... is it so hard to find the Grand Line? In the other episode Nami explained how the oceans are split up into regions and the Grand Line acts as a kind of equator...
Wait... he can't swim? or does the sea water somehow prevent it
Hehe. What a strange conversation. Kind of angry yet... they both agree
Hmm. He says he lost the Grand Line map but perhaps she left the real map behind
In the far away shot, as Usopp is carrying the barrel towards the ship, it doesn't look so heavy.
Sanji's parting words to Zeff are a tearjerker.

S1E7:
1a: Getting sleepy but... I decided to watch just a little bit more
1a: This opening has oranges and the "I" is a compass. Which I suppose it means representing Nami as the navigator.
1a: Pause after the intro.
1b: She has orange hair, but I feel it isn't overly noticeable compared to her orange hair as a child. The logo also had clear orange hair.
1b: Hmm. How would one successfully cheat in poker if other hands weren't placed down... What if others had Queens.
1b: She picked up the Queens which implies she lied, but I suppose my comment remains
1b: Sitting under an orange tree.
1b: "I know you'll do the right thing too." Becomes a thief.
1b: All the tables in Baratie are off the floor
1b: "More rare than medium"
1b: Flipped house many years ago and it's just remained like that?
1b: Luffy's so observant. He noticed the blue-haired woman
1b: Oh, it's a tangerine grove.
1b: Hehe. "But there better be dessert"
1b: Hehe. Garp enjoying the meal. I'm feeling hungry.
1b: I'm not sure what this exchange means: "I didn't know you had the pleasure of dining on a Marine vessel." "Only in the brig." [Oh, a brig means the prison, especially one on a warship. So it means Zeff had once dined on a Marine ship, as a prisoner in jail; and it makes even more sense with the line before "A fair bit better than Marine rations, huh?"]
1b: Ha! "Or you could just serve whiskey" (interesting response to a great metaphor about leaving something age for too long)
1b: He made beansprouts delicious
1b: Hmm. Is it better to defend like that versus hiding along with her children?
1b: That's so coldhearted. (kills Nami's mother)
1b: Interesting... Arlong gouges villages of money and yet in return seems to be reserved about paying the hush money to the Marines
1b: This Nezumi fellow has no spine. Honestly I feel his leverage is larger.
1b: "...and I will consider the matter closed." Consider? WTF. This guy is an asshole.
1b: Huh. How did Zeff know that Garp and Luffy are related. Maybe Garp said something earlier about it. ("family dispute")
1b: "The kid reminds me of Gold Roger."
1b: A hundred million berry to buy back the village.
1b: Exactly, why didn't she tell her sister.
1b: Geez. I don't know who's worse. Arlong or Nezumi...
1b: I see... earlier she said she was protecting her sister and the others in the village. And now that Nezumi has taken the money, she screams that Arlong will kill the entire village. It makes more sense now. Because Arlong keeps the village around to extract their money. But with a hundred million berry, he wouldn't need them (I feel like technically extra money wouldn't hurt). How did she not catch up to the marines already? They had just left.
1b: Yikes. Stabbing at her tattoo
1b: I guess the final episode will be a showdown between the group and Arlong.
1b: "Luffy. Help me." Pause. Transition. "Of course I will. Of course I will. Of course I will!"
1b: Jeez. They're already attacking the village...
1a=20231007, 1b=20231008

S1E8:
1: Jeez. She works for her and yet treats her as a prisoner.
1: Hmm. These very fishmen get sliced by the blade no problem. So... why would Arlong be any tougher?
1: Whoa. Cool wall run and slice. He shows that he's still injured though.
1: The Grand Line map is just in a chest...
1: Arlong's words don't make sense. He talks about rebellion and yet we only yet have been shown him destroying a defenseless town
1: Hmm... he was only able to release his hands after his head returned to his body...
1: Tch. "Hey so uh... I'm gonna get out of here." Flick them off
1: Good fake. But... what's his plan after that.
1: "My skin is tougher than bullets." Hmm... so tougher than bullets is not impervious to swords?
1: "Special Attack. Exploding star."
1: Smile. "They'll believe me."
1: What a dummy. Helped punch his own building.
1: "Mouton shot!" "Mouton shot?" "All great fighters call out their finishing moves." (exactly what Luffy said) "Yeah, you're gonna fit in just fine."
1: That theme song... "Gum Gum Gatling"
1: "Gum Gum Battle Axe." Hehe through the roof
1: Oh no. That looked powerful. "Gum Gum Rocket."
1: Super hyped that he's on a Wanted poster courtesy of Nezumi...
1: 30M
1`: Various characters seeing the wanted poster. [Makino.] Kaya recognizes Usopp. Zeff. Buggy. Alvida. Garp says "I guess there's some of him in me after all." [He refers to "code" when talking to Koby]
1: Warlord presents Shanks with Luffy's Wanted poster
1: Hehe. Tangerine tress on the ship.
1: Smile. (a better looking version of Luffy's) straw hat jolly roger.
1: Dreams. All Blue, King of the Pirates, greatest swordsmen, map of the world, brave warrior of the sea
1. A person sticks a cigar into the Wanted poster. From what Wiki articles I've seen... this is a character named Smoker.
