Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) (2010)

20131023:
Overall, I found the story interesting, but I wish I had the opportunity to watch Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979) beforehand.

Eric Idle and the four soloists (left to right): Rosalind Plowright (mezzo), William Ferguson (tenor), Shannon Mercer (soprano), Christopher Purves (bass)

As such, I would recommend the potential viewer to go check out Monty Python's Life of Brian, and then come back and enjoy Not the Messiah.

[20131026][20181023 Edit]

Having watched Life of Brian yesterday, I still recommend watching it before watching Not the Messiah, but would consider that watching Not the Messiah independently of Life of Brian is reasonable.

A view of the audience, orchestra, and choir.

Instant Comments:
When the oratorio started, I had to turn on the subtitles, because I had a bit of trouble following. Then I turned it off. Then I turned it on again.
I occasionally get lost in the plot. I wonder if it would have been better if I had seen Monty Python's Life of Brian.

Idle starts off "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

Ha. "I want to be one."
That's an interesting song: "I want to be a girl."
Haha: Amourdeus. And the punchline! Hahaha. "But enough opera. Let's have some sex!"
"Are you a virgin?" "How dare you?" "She must be."

Michael Palin is Bevis and sings "The Lumberjack Song."

Hahaha. "Now you can shut up." "Or what? I'll have to sacrifice being crucified in the afternoons?"
"Always look on the bright side of life."
