War Horse (2011)

20120129:
This movie had plenty of dramatic scenes and moments that kept me interested.

While I liked the movie as a whole, I was disappointed by the use of accents in the movie. First, the Germans were speaking to each other in English with German accents (presumably they were speaking German) and the French were speaking to each other in English with French accents (presumably they were speaking French). That was tolerable. But what language were they using when the French man was talking to the German man (each speaking English with German and French accents)? In contrast, the actors and actresses in Hugo (2011) were all speaking (American) English with a British accent, despite the movie taking place in France, where they should all be speaking French.

Setting aside the use of accents, this movie was solid and worth watching at least once in your lifetime.

Fact: David Thewlis was in another movie about a horse: Black Beauty (1994).

20120909:
Today I watched this movie again.

Instant Comments:
2: OMG people speaking English with their accents. Annoying. To be distinguished from the use of accents in Hugo (2011). In this case, it happens on and off. And trying to determine which language they are actually conversing with is uninteresting.
2: I thought a great scene was the plow scene.
2: I liked the love story between the two horses. But I don't like the movie as much as I remember.
2: The best scene is when Joey runs into the wire cutters, up until his release. "We need more cutters." -> ten cutters fly up over. A war horse.
2: Coin toss. Handshake.
