I wish I had been able to see Frankenstein (1931) before watching this, but unfortunately it wasn't available on Netflix. [Edit: Apparently I had seen Frankenstein! This is exactly why I keep a blog. :D]

While titled as "The Bride of Frankenstein," the plot actually revolves dominantly around the monster, Henry Frankenstein, and Dr. Pretorious.

Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive)
Of the three classic horrors I saw, I like The Bride of Frankenstein best. The other two are The Wolf Man (1941) and Dracula (1931).

The Monster smokes a cigar.

She says, there's more and begins to tell.
Dr. Pretorius.
It's interesting, I find the monster less creepy than the these little people.
I find that one woman character annoying.

Dr. Pretorius (Ernest Thesiger)

Aww. Poor monster is so misunderstood and feared.
"Bread." "Drink." "Good, good." "Friend."
Haha. Smoke. That was quite a surprise.
Haha. Smoke is good.

Frankenstein and the Monster's Mate.

The average person is such a pain. Ruining friendships... getting people's houses on fire... forming mobs...
Ha! "Have a cigar, they're my only weakness." Earlier he said the same of gin.
"She's alive, alive!"

The Monster.
