I had some doubt on how good Skiptrace would be. Specifically, Netflix rated the movie for me at only 3 stars, and that worried me.
However, I enjoyed the movie and I would say that as an action movie, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars, as a Jackie Chan movie, I'd give it about 3.5 out of 5 stars, and as a general movie, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars (just as Netflix suggested).
With the previous ratings in mind, I should remember for future reference that Netflix ratings can't account for my mood. Sometimes I'd just rather watch a 3-star action or comedy film over a 5-star Oscar-award winning drama.
While the jokes were here and there, and the plot was full of standard fluff, Jackie Chan manages to execute some new and enjoyable action scenes.
Overall, the movie's poor reviews are warranted, but if you're a fan of Jackie Chan, I'd recommend it.
I decided to give it a 4 star rating on Netflix. I would give it a 7 out of 10 on IMDb.com.
