DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990)

20130114:
This movie brought back many memories of DuckTales; as a kid, I watched the show a lot. However, I don't recall having seen this movie before today.

The plot reminded me of Aladdin (1992). The two movies share several plot elements in common. For example, both the genie in Aladdin and the genie in this movie have a sense of humor. They are, however, different. First, unlike Disney's Aladdin, Treasure of the Lost Lamp doesn't have any songs. Second, Treasures of the Lost Lamp is not a romance. Thinking about the plot, I was suddenly curious about the original story of Aladdin, as told in One Thousand and One Nights.

Overall, Treasure of the Lost Lamp is a fun children's movie. Adults might like it, too. I liked it; although, having watched it as a kid, I might be biased.

Launchpad: Flight school?
Scrooge McDuck: You mean you *never* took flying lessons?
Launchpad: Well, I took a crash course.
Scrooge McDuck: I cannot work, Mrs. Featherby. I'm going home.
Mrs. Featherby: But... wh-what about your lunch?
Scrooge McDuck: Sell it!
