Around the World in 80 Days (2004)

20170406:
The movie had great comedic elements, but I was occasionally disappointed by some of the actors.

Passepartout / Lau Xing (Jackie Chan)

Ignoring the terrible acting and focusing more on the action (and also some of the visuals), then the movie was a delight to watch.

In different words, I would have changed the tone from dominantly comedy to more serious and lightly comedic.

Netflix determined the movie for me as a 86% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

Phileas Fogg (Steve Coogan)

Instant Comments:
The actor Steve Coogan doesn't seem the part. Maybe his initial fake accent was terrible.
The accents in general are terrible.
I was curious how many days it would take to travel the world via just air balloon. [The record set for a solo flight around the world in July 2016 was for 11 days, two days faster than the previous record set by Steve Fossett in 2002]

Lord Kelvin (Jim Broadbent)

I was expecting a more traditional Around the World in 80 Days story. But this movie has a different story (centered around Jackie Chan's character).
Hahahahahaha. When they dropped the statue of Hapi.
Ha. "Ding ding ding. Ding ding ding." She corrects him. "Ding dang dong, Passepartout, ding dang dong."
Sammo Hung is Wong Fei Hung.

Monique La Roche (Cecile De France)

Haha. The Wright Bros. are played by the Wilson brothers.
"I did? What's with the I did. We're the Wright brothers. We did."
"You had me at nipples."
Kathy Bates is Queen Victoria.
Jim Broadbent played Lord Kelvin wonderfully.

Orville Wright (Luke Wilson) and Wilbur Wright (Owen Wilson)

Credits:
Oh, the final credits song was "It's a Small World." [The film was produced by Walt Disney Pictures]
