20151007:
While I thought I may have seen this movie several times before, I absolutely didn't remembered any of it except for a vague recollection of the ending in the church bell tower.
The image of Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker is also vivid, but again, I didn't remember any of the scenes. From this I would gather I've seen the movie once before.*
Speaking of the Joker, I enjoyed Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the character. In particular, he looked perfect for the part. The second best part of the film was the Batmobile.
Overall, the movie was solid and well-made, but I liked the sequel, Batman Returns, more.
*But perhaps my memory is a misleading measure of how many times I've seen a movie. There have certainly been movies I have only seen once, but I remember seeing them multiple times (and vice versa). If anything, my memory of how many times I've seen a movie is a better measure of how much I like or liked a movie than how many times I've seen it.
As of 20180120, Netflix determined the movie for me as a 97% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.
Instant Comments:
At the 7 minute mark. "Who are you?" "I'm Batman."
Vicky Vale on the magazine, but she spells it 'Vicki Vale' in the comics. [Actually, it's also spelled as 'Vicki' in the credits, so they seemed to have made a mistake.]
Knox (the reporter) mentions Gordon by name.
Ha. "I'm not sure." (puts down the pen, Alfred scoops to pick it up, puts down the glass, Alfred scoops to pick it up)
Hehe. "Oh, and uh, give Knox a grant."
Ha. "Could you pass the salt."
"To tell you the truth, I don't think I've ever been in this room before."
Haha. The news anchors don't use any make-up or hair products and so they look terrible, though it's exaggerated.
He pretends he's melting. "I'm melting, I'm melting."
Hah. I was thinking, he just left it open! And then he turns the shields on.
Vicki says she thinks she weigh 108.
Haha. "You're right, there's something else you have that I want." (the film)
"We've got a flying mouse to kill. And I want to clean my claws."
"You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?"
"Never rub another man's rhubarb."
"Shall we dance?"
"Question, how do we call him?" "He gave us his signal."
Seen once before.
