(500) Days of Summer (2009)

The word that seemed to wrap up how I thought about this movie is "cute." My initial thoughts were, "how can you have 500 days of Summer?" Yet another movie I watched without knowing what it's about, I thought the movie proceeded well. The order in which the protagonist's relationship is presented to the audience was done with enough contrast here and there to keep interest on how the blanks are filled in. Some of the messages presented in the movie are worth thinking about a bit; just a bit. There are quirky bits, narrated bits, and in general, the movie is something of a Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Stranger than Fiction.

I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen the actor playing the protagonist, Joseph Gorden-Levitt. So he's from 3rd Rock from the Sun. Great show.

I totally didn't remember that Zooey Deschanel was Ms. Edmunds from Bridge to Terabithia (2007). She was also Trillian from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), which was a great movie, but I watched that too long ago for any of the actors and actresses from that movie to stick in my mind.
