20230407:
Yesterday I started watching Enola Holmes. While the last name Holmes would suggest she's related to Sherlock Holmes, this wasn't immediately revealed.
[20230407][20230615 Edit]
Instant Comments:
1a: I watched up to 37 min mark where Sherlock and Mycroft are speaking and Sherlock says she's only 16, that is, he's additionally concerned about Enola.
1b: hehe sherlock spots the title: two boys.
1b: ah very smart. the shot shows that she realizes the best course of action is to fake having been drowned.
1b: hehe her teacher says she never mastered the corkscrew, she already failed and here she failes again, though it seems her mother has it down. I guess this foreshadows that towards the end of the movie likely she would use it to take down her mother.
1b: I'm thinking as she's talking about being able to defend the Viscount, that the bowler hat man was able to track her down but not the Viscount. is this just chance? [it is revealed later, in short, yes. he was tracking the viscount but ran into Enola]
1b: smile. "how do we laugh? we laugh politely. hahahaha"
1b: hahahahahahahaha. very serious advice. "your move Enola" and camera cuts to Enola as a little girl, perhaps 7 years of age. I love Helena Bonham Carter. [20230615: probably the best scene]
1b: huh. Enola must have predicted this and given him a corset. but would a corset realistically protect against a bullet (one from that gun specifically)?
1b: huh Enola is crying so it seems she wasn't in on the plan, but his hand moved...
Credits:
1b: Anthony Rickman. hmm doesn't seem to be related to Alan Rickman
