Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

20140803:
I watched this film today with Josh and Danny.

I really liked the movie. It had a great balance of laughter and action. There was great chemistry between the characters, it had a great story, and it had a great ending. As far as I can tell, everything was great. 20140804 9:01PM PT

20160103:
Today I watched this movie again with my dad - the film was my Christmas present to him. Overall, the movie was fresh enough in my mind that I remembered most of the overarching story, but long enough that I had forgotten many of its subtleties.

One scene which I remembered differently was the last scene with baby Groot and Drax. Perhaps due to the trope of such a scene, I remembered Groot stopping at least twice during the scene. However, Drax only looks over once and so Groot only freezes once.

In any case, it's hard to say whether I like Guardians of the Galaxy or The Avengers (2012) more. I would lean towards Guardians of the Galaxy, because the members of Guardians of the Galaxy are equally interesting while I enjoy The Avengers primarily for Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
