After watching the second episode, the show feels raw and honest with some dramatization and artistic license as to what would be in the mind and challenges of Dave Burd. That is, I highly doubt much of the mental themes are made up. Truth is stranger than fiction. This show is the fictionalization of the truth.

Overall this season ended great. As there's a story arc of sorts. There's arguably some growth for Dave. With that being said, I thought the season started slow. I love the increase in song tracks towards the end of the season.

1: hmm... so the thing about Dave (the show character, not the real person)... is I empathize with him, yet he's also unlikeable. He's unlikeable in a real way as opposed to in a satire way, e.g., Always Sunny characters. As such, the show is currently feeling more drama than comedy.
1: throughout the episode you get Emma and Elz as some kind of foil. Emma gets ticked off at the cyclist and runs after him. says fuck you and says defensively that she's not a bad driver. Elz does cocaine.
1: the episode ends with Dave masturbating with ants on his device and crashing out a window before a plot twist.
Dave tried to do the auto tune with the girl but she doesnt get it. btw her replies reminded me of his track with Brain ("Pillow Talking")

he could/ should have easily turned his head... (Dave throws up on Ally's back). I guess it was written in for comedic effect to break tension but... I guess I can't read the show... in other two episodes it wasn't afraid to commit and here in this moment he vomits in her wound. I guess it could be a metaphor but the obvious reason is they just decided to go for a quick laugh [20240815: the action ends up in a song, so I guess the song was written in coordination with the episode which is rather genius]
I noticed Scooter Braun is an executive producer... [he manages Lil Dicky, but many artists managed by Bruan started leaving him. not sure if LD would follow suit]

I was afraid when Gata hopped the fence tonuse the outlets. especially when all the lights whent out. but in the end he arrives at the bar mitzcah with the best ending after everything went poorly

this episode with Emma and kind of a backwards based video was cool. interesting cliffhanger end. I'm not quite sure I understood Emma's reaction. I think she felt screwed over in the ad pitch but so what... she's been living in Dave's shadoe ever since? did they stop being as good of friends?

I heard Penith prior to watching this season, so I knew about the track and I apready liked it. in any case the "puked on you" has a relevance to the episode where he puked on her so that was neat inncontext of the show. meanwhile the arc with his parents makes this a lighter epusode even though there was some tension quickly resolved at dinner

holy shit. I didn't see that ending coming. even right up to where gata puts on his glasses. it's cut so well it looks like he's viewing the show like everyone else (ally and emma). in any case it had me with tears in my ducts for several seconds (where usually it's just a moment) as they're coming out and singing "we're good" (which is on the album). I'm trying to remember though... the last time... oh yeah snoopy. that was a longer than average moment where I had tears in my ducts. but this was even more. i kind of let out severap sighs as if crying without any tears falling. [i guess the term should be "teary eyed"]
