Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day was a great movie. I missed a couple parts here and there but I'll definitely fill in the blanks at some point. It's such a well written story and from the way it started I definitely didn't think it was going to be a romance.
Overall, I found the film witty and enjoyed its pacing.
Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams) |
Among the various romantic comedies I've seen, it's one of the better ones (let's say 70th percentile or better) but not one of the best (so under the 80th percentile).
Considering I've probably only seen around 20-30 romantic comedies, that makes it anywhere from 13th to 5th (out of 20) or 19th to 7th (out of 30).
I'd further note, again among romantic comedies I've seen, the movie's tone is shifted a bit more towards romance than comedy.
In any case, I'd recommend the movie for its charm.
As a side note: my girlfriend had chose to watch the movie, but I later looked it up on my own Netflix and Netflix's rating of the movie for me was 4.5 (out of 5).

1: Haha. "'Four's a Crowd''s a wonderful picture. Who were you?" "The crowd." [Everywhere I look I see the quote reading as "wonderful movie" but the audio for the Netflix movie is "wonderful picture" and the caption is in agreement]
1: Ha, totally forgot she was able to have some cucumbers (from her face mask)
