Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)

20150909:
Overall, I liked this movie; I enjoy the secret agent genre, e.g., Jack Ryan, Bourne, James Bond, Mission Impossible, etc.

Jack Ryan (Chris Pine)

Kevin Costner was cool. Off the top of my head, I can't think say I've seen any of his movies.*

Perhaps my primary complaint is that Jack Ryan is the plausibility of Jack Ryan transitioning from an intelligent Marine to a bad-ass CIA agent.

In particular, the chase scene towards the later part of the movie was literally unbelievable. Where'd he learn to drive like that?

Thomas Harper (Kevin Costner)

I'd still recommend the movie to those who like action movies, at least Chris Pine looks the part (as opposed to Harrison Ford in Patriot Games (1992) or Clear and Present Danger (1994).

*Oh, I've actually seen Dances with Wolves (1990), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), and Field of Dreams (1989).

Pretty cool intro (first 12 minutes)
Interesting twist. I thought the maid look suspicious, but then...
Damn. That first kill...

Cathy Muller (Keira Knightley) and Viktor Cherevin (Kenneth Branagh)

"You sold this as an analyst job."
Damn, he's in some deep, deep shit.
Lol. I wonder if that's for real (that you get to tell your spouse).
"Things we regret."
Why did he take the lightbulb?

Oh, that's what it's for.
That's some driving. [A bit over the top relative to the character that's been developed.]
Holy. That scene.
I'm not sure why the trading was related to the explosion.
Damn, he tried.
