The Christmas Chronicles (2018)

20181226:
I didn't know what to expect going into this film other than the trailer being decent. However, by the end of it, I was happy that I saw it. In particular, I wasn't the happiest this holiday season and the film helped put me in a better mood.

Kate (Darby Camp)

In general, the movie incorporates a lot of mythology pertaining to Santa Claus, but with plenty of twists to keep the viewer on his/her toes.

Netflix determined the movie for me as a 99% match, the highest match on My List. I decided to give the movie a thumbs up.

Instant Comments:
Interesting. But if there were an extra present from Santa, wouldn't the parents have wondered where it came from?
No way Santa would just park his sleigh there like that, haha.

Teddy (Judah Lewis) and Santa Claus (Kurt Russell)

Also, the time she saw Santa in their house was long versus the time it took him to hop from house to house.
Wow. That was a lot of action.
Hahaha. "How do you think I can [...]." "Pilates?"
Holy crap. The naughty list for life.
"I speak English you moron."
She ripped up a Mickey Mantle card!!!
"Sleigh bells. Are you listening?"

Mina (Jessica Lowe), one of Santa's Elves

I keep trying to remember who the one cop is, but I can't. [Ah! It's Lamorne Morris from New Girl]
Teddy getting riled up is touching. Brings a tear to my eye.
Great moment when he dodges the train.
Ha. Ha. Ha. She spoke Elvish.
"He's checking it twice."
That ornament gift...
It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, The Grinch.

The Book of Life (2014)

20181224:
The movie was not bad. Some parts were predictable. I eventually liked its use of modern songs.

[20181224][20191014 Edit]

20191014 Comment:
Coco was released three years after The Book of Life. Due to some thematic similarities, the film has been accused of ripping off The Book of Life. However, the facts suggest that it is not. In particular, the time frames during which the two movies were being made make it harder to say that Coco was a rip-off.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)

20181224:
Hmm. What an interesting set of events. In particular with Lestrange. All the links to the Harry Potter storyline: blood pact, Dumbledore, Phoenix, Lestrange family tree. Oh yeah, McGonagall and Flamell.

Trailers: UglyDolls (2019), Downton Abbey (2019), The Kid Who Would Be King (2019), Holmes & Watson (2018), (Ada went to the restroom), The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019), Detective Pikachu (2019), (Ada returned) 10:04 AM

I read today that McGonagall wouldn't have been born yet, at least not unless her age was retconned.

Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife (2018)

20181202:
This comedy special was fun to watch. Ali Wong does a great job with intonation and timing. She also has great facial expression.

Another aspect I enjoy about Ali Wong's personality is that she keeps a great composure. In particular, she doesn't laugh at her own jokes and she doesn't use filler expressions such as "uh" or "um."

And third, I also noticed that she doesn't backtrack, that is, she doesn't apologize for being offensive. Ali Wong commits to her jokes (after all, they're jokes) and that's respectable.

Overall, I would highly recommend this comedy special for fans of stand-up.

Netflix determined the movie for me as <56%* match. I decided to give the special a thumbs up.

comedy special - Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife - Ali Wong puzzled look
Gives the audience a puzzled look... "Who... the fuck... do you think is taking care of the baby?"

*With the first movie without a match percentage being 1st, Ali Wong was the 6th out of 29 items with hidden match percentages.

Like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Awesome imitation of a queef.

Blade (1998)

20181202:
I never saw this film before and I mainly wanted to watch it because I had recently finished Season 2 of Castlevania and Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Strangely, I previously felt like watching it even though I had absolutely no idea what it was about or if it was a good. What causes that to happen? How does one form an interest on essentially just a title and a thumbnail?

Blade (Wesley Snipes)

Anyways, the movie's plot was weak and at times just plain ridiculous. With that being said, it's best to appreciate the movie as an action movie and on that front, it delivered.

Netflix determined the movie for me as a 97% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

Instant Comments:
Seems like a waste that he crashed such a party to not be able to like kill the lot of them. Though I suppose there were humans there...
So on that note. Why would anybody stop and fight him? Given they seem to already know his reputation.

Dragonetti (Udo Kier) and Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff)

Their death effect looks pretty cool.
Maybe his goal isn't to kill vampires but to shut down the club.
I'm waiting for the jumpscare when this guy comes to life. [And here it is.]
"When you know the nature of a thing, you know what it's capable of."
Ha. "He moved."
That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. "Please, I just work for them."
How did she recognized her grown-up son?

Karen (N'Bushe Wright)

Ah how interesting. I was definitely thinking about how they stripped him of those EDTA vials and it was unfortunate he only got to use two. Wonder how many, if any of them broke when Frost tossed them away. My guess would be... one vial.
Hehe. Says stop and then don't stop... Wow. That must be a feeling. So sexual.
Given all that sexual undertones. Frost having the blood fall on him is like Blade jizzing on his face.
