Air Bud (1997)

I don't remember much about the movie at all, but I can imagine most of it, guessing that it follows the main celebrity animal plot: someone finds animal, animal has talent, original owner goes after animal, happy ending. I don't know where this sort of plot originated, and I don't know if it was originally with an animal, but somehow I have this stereotypical plot in my mind. As it stands, whether or not the movie is good depends on how it executes the above.
I don't remember his role in this movie, but I recently saw Bill Cobbs in Night at the Museum (2006).
