From the point of view of 2017, strange that it's released in 2006. Part of me wants to say it felt like an older movie. But of course I knew I watched it after graduating high school, so logically it couldn't have been released before the year 2004.

Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) |
I recall being confused the first time I watched it, but I also enjoyed it. This viewing was different since I knew the outcome, and I don't think I enjoyed it that much, but it still had its moments.
Netflix determined the movie for me as a 93% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

The beginning is totally different having watched the movie before.

17 minutes. Self-sacrifice. If you've seen the movie before.
"He killed it." [...] "But where's his brother?"
"You're the lucky one today."
Couldn't they have made a better fail-safe?
"I don't know"
"Say it again." "I love you." "Not today."

Cutter (Michael Caine) |
"How can he not know?"
55 minutes. If you've seen the movie before.
I thought part of the argument against Bourden was that he didn't try to save Angier.
"Are you watching closely?"
"I lied. He said it was agony."
