20111030:
I was originally going to watch this movie in the background, thinking I had seen most of it before. It's one of those movies that played on tv every so often when I was a kid. But apparently I had only seen a couple of scenes, like the introduction of ED-209 and RoboCop removing his helmet.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie.
Instant Comments:
The movie starts off with a dated look. Then there's the 209 unit which looks cool. I wonder how they did that part.
When we get to where RoboCop starts fighting crime, that's cool.
I assume for the sake of the movie, the explosion destroyed the disc. Either that or the detectives wouldn't be looking for that as evidence. Speaking of which, there's no mention of the fact the vice president of OCP was murdered. Haha. I suppose in the long scheme of the movie, it doesn't matter.
Lol, the scene with the robot trying to walk down the stairs is funny. Looks like stop-motion.
Love the ending. From RoboCop taking out 209 to "Murphy."
Credits:
The credits mention stop-motion for the ED-209 crew.

Alpha and Omega (2010)
20111018:
The movie wasn't as smooth and polished as it could have been. However, I loved the graphics and the story itself.
The movie follows the main tropes for a children's movie where the lower-class male is trying to win the heart of the upper-class female. For example, there's a scene where the male seems to be leaving, only for some reason to return and somehow save the female. Similar movies in this regard include Anastasia (1997), Aladdin (1992), A Bug's Life (1998), Lady and the Tramp (1955), and The AristoCats (1970).* Like Alpha and Omega, Anastasia and Aladdin share the trope that marriage is forbidden by some royal law.
In any case, the plot is straightforward.
*Of the five movies (including Alpha and Omega), four start with the letter "A" and three feature animals.
[20111018 Assumed Post Date][20190112 Edit]
Instant Comments:
The animation is beautiful, but the dialogue is kind of lacking.
Lol, well the mother's dialogue is actually pretty funny.
One of Humphrey's friend sounds like Timon from The Lion King.
Hahahaha. Perfect.
I like how the movie tries to keep things funny.

Conan the Barbarian (1982)
20111018:
The middle part of the movie is best. The ending is better than the beginning. I'm glad I watched it once. After watching the movie, I learned the movie is a type of sword-and-sorcery movie. Wow, a lot gets developed in the first 30 minutes. Though I guess the last ten minutes of that is more interesting than the first twenty minutes. Krum. Chops his chains off.
The movie seems to only get more interesting from there. Do you not wish to warm yourself by my fire?

The One (2001)
20111016:
This film made me realize that parallel universes is a strange concept. Does everybody exist in every universe? Including insects and such? Then how will each universe evolve and behave differently. Surely then we can have multiple universes and perhaps some which resemble each other, but to have even one person exists in some form in every universe is ridiculous. Perhaps it can happen that two people that are similar to some degree, but not two versions of the same person. In that situation, the DC Multiverse is acceptable, but the concept put forth in this movie is not. Aside from the science fiction, the action was pretty fun. Actually, now that I think about it, the only other thing I liked about the movie was the music.
Basically, watch this movie if you ever wondered what would happen if Jet Li were to fight himself. Would either Jet Li win?
Great scene: The very last scene where Yu Law (the "bad" Jet Li) is just being a bad-ass.
20130707 Comments:
The comments I made on 20111016 seem to me like I was confused. If I could go back in time, I would explain to myself that there's a difference between parallel universes and a cone of possibilities. The DC Multiverse is a good example of how parallel universes could be. Some universes could be similar to the one you're living in, just by coincidence.

Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993)
20111015,16:
This movie is different from the other Woody Allen movies I've seen. Without going into detail on the differences, I enjoyed it more than Deconstructing Harry (1997) and Manhattan (1979), but less than Annie Hall (1977).
The movie both simple and complex. If you like Woody Allen films, then you should enjoy this movie.

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)
20111014:
This movie was a great western. It's definitely one of my top five western movies.
I can't decide at the moment whether I like Once Upon a Time in the West or The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) better.
Let me analyze a couple of aspects. While I like the harmonica theme in this movie, it's not as memorable as the theme in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Though I suppose The Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme has the advantage of being something I've heard even before watching the movie.
I enjoy Clint Eastwood's character more than Charles Bronson's character. I also enjoy the final showdown in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly more than the final showdown in this movie for two reasons. First, three is better than two. Second, the one in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly has more suspense.
I conclude that I like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly more than Once Upon a Time in the West.

Oh snaps, "You brought two too many."
"Like what?" "Like that."

Ooo... "Frank wait!" hahaha "I told you to keep quiet."

King Kong (1976)
20111010:
I didn't like the ending. Quite a tragedy. Admittedly I didn't give the movie my full attention, but from what I saw, it doesn't deserve my full attention. It was a mediocre movie. The only interesting character was the protagonist Jack Prescott.

Supernatural
20111001:
I love this show. I can't believe I never watched the first episode before. I've definitely seen all of season 4 and the first eight episodes of season 5. I've probably seen most, if not all, of seasons 2 and 3 (I recognize a lot of the episode summaries on Wikipedia). As such, I knew enough about the show to not be surprised by most of what occurred in the first episode, in particular the beginning and the end of it.
This show has a great balance of action and suspense. Things can get pretty scary every now and then. Also, deaths are never explicitly gory. An example I just made up, which may or may not have ever happened, but if a guys head got chopped off, the scene would be you see the ax coming, scene cuts to another viewpoint, you might hear the sound, then you hear the thud. An example from this episode is you don't see how the person is killed but you see blood splatter onto the windshield.
I had a friend who once made a comment about how a spirit would commit one murder every so years and then when it comes to an episode of Supernatural, there would be an abnormally high number of kills. I've honed in on little details like this with other shows and movies before, but this was a detail I never noticed. I probably didn't notice because I acknowledge that in most real life situations, patterns aren't permanent. The sun rising every 24 hours isn't a permanent pattern. The average temperature every year isn't a permanent pattern. What exactly do I mean? When I say a pattern isn't permanent, I mean to say the pattern was formed by making an observation and using that observation to predict a future event. 1 2 3 4, what comes next? Your answer would probably be 5. But you'd be wrong, because the pattern I had in my mind is 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 11 12 13 14... (skip every multiple of 5). Thus, real patterns are ones that are defined and when we play the game object 1, object 2, object 3, what comes next, we play with the idea that I have already defined a pattern and I give you enough objects for you to determine my pattern. Anyways, that's one way to overlook why the spirit would break its "pattern." Other reasons include a failure to record certain killings, killings became more frequent because the spirit was being agitated by something or somebody, and you might not notice an event unless you're looking for it.
Anyways, the first episode partially explained the change in killing frequency. I included the exchange below.
Season 1 Episode 1 Pilot
A partial explanation of the change in killing frequency pertaining to this episode (1.01 Pilot (transcript)):
Season 1 Episode 2 Wendigo
1: Once again, the number of deaths was explained and does not fall under the error which my friend observed. However, I was curious as to why such a fast, smart, and great hunter failed to have any of those characteristics towards the end of the episode. The best idea I could come up with is that the Wendigo lacks those characteristics when distracted or caught off guard.
1: In the last episode, Dean comes and distracts the spirit before Sam is killed. In this episode Dean circles back and kills the being before it mauls Sam and the others. Depending on how one looks at the situation, Dean has saved Sam's life in 2 out of 2 episodes so far.
1=20111002 2500

Supernatural
(DEAN pulls some papers out of a folder.)
DEAN: All right, here we go. So Dad was checking out this two-lane blacktop just outside of Jericho, California. About a month ago, this guy.
(DEAN hands one of the papers to SAM.)
DEAN: They found his car, but he vanished. Completely MIA.
(The paper is a printout of an article from the Jericho Herald, headlined "Centennial Highway Disappearance" and dated Sept. 19th 2005; it has a man's picture, captioned "Andrew Carey MISSING". SAM reads it and glances up.)
SAM: So maybe he was kidnapped.
DEAN: Yeah. Well, here's another one in April.
(DEAN tosses down another Jericho Herald article for each date he mentions.)
DEAN: Another one in December 'oh-four, 'oh-three, 'ninety-eight, 'ninety-two, ten of them over the past twenty years.
(DEAN takes the article back from SAM and picks up the rest of the stack, putting them back in the folder.)
DEAN: All men, all the same five-mile stretch of road.
(DEAN pulls a bag out of another part of the arsenal.)
DEAN: It started happening more and more, so Dad went to go dig around. That was about three weeks ago. I hadn't heard from him since, which is bad enough.
