The Legend of Vox Machina

20260104:
Watched the first two episodes.

20260512 Comment:
Forgot to rate the series. I was hooked on it. I think it's at least a 4.6.

What is the dragon's motive for killing? Unless as suggested in the previous episode, it's working with someone for some reason.
Smile. Grog doesn't
Hmm. I feel the creepy guy would be the obvious suspect. But that seems too easy. I mean he did proposed to give gold to the dragon which seems suspicious, but maybe that's just to lead the viewer astray.
The style of the cartoon thus far reminds me of Castlevania, except sometimes the animation here seems a notch below that of Castlevania. With this show leaning more into the humor [note made before they are getting info about dragon]
called it
Hehe. "Scalan's Hand"
Hmm. At first I thought the coin could be a marker for that location, but thinking, I don't think magic could easily detect and locate such a thing. And the sentiment of revenge for the death of the village is worth much more
Seems like a vampire.
Hmm... the character didn't show blood sucking, but showed extreme strength and claws; both seem quite vampire like

I read a review of a fan of Critical Role who pointed out the failures of The Legend of Vox Machina. While I have yet to watch Critical Role, I've seen many YouTube clips of the show and I would agree with the review. Critical Role is fun because players go in and out of character. It's a lot more fun. This animation is too cleaned up and streamlined, and so it takes away what makes the source fun without adding something to replace that (e.g., heavier focus on action). Well maybe it tried to focus on more jokes, but I don't think that's sufficient. I think it either needs to be closer to the source material (e.g., a show that was aware of characters playing these characters) or took more liberties away from the source material.
hehe it zooms on his balls which seem to have a shield
hahaha beads
Sylas has no reflection, but the other character does
I would say the easiest way out would be to get the court to come out. since it would put into question why Sylas is fighting
wow, that's dark (puts on a mask and goes dark)

S1E05
hehe dark
hehe the twist of the sex

S1E06
hmm. reveal about his sister. but I feel regardless his revolver has his revenge list. trying to think of natural story progression. this kind of archetype is like revenge kind of consumes and at some point certain characters can't return unless they decide to break it. except the way its written I don't see that playing out.

S1E07
where did he get materials for the weapon. one mkment he was out in the cold
hehe 5 barrels and asks about 6 but interrupted
hehe. enemy shitting and we see a final shit drop. how crude
shrinks? [hehe some kind of vanishing]
this one shrinks!
anachronism
how convenient, he exactly needed to burn the house [hehe "that was convenient"]
hehe. his manner of barely surviving
that cant be right this early. that would be a trap
remark: this episode kind of settled into good animation 1=20260107

S1E08
interesting not a trap, but not dead yet
dang. calculating the angles
hehe. decent joke: "there's a hor..."

S1E10
hmm hard to read if cassandra is good or bad or perhaps corrupted
huh she kept him alive. she could have just let him die, right. how complicafed... it would be a weird long con to keep him alive but bring him. unless that's the trap.
"I don't trust her"
can't whats her name just leave
Scanlan asks and Pike explains if she breaks the connection she might not be able to return
I didn't write it earlier, but I guess Vex is the most leader of the group.
hehe grog just goes for it.
1=20260108

S1E11
the caption calls it orthax
I feel the whole controlling thing thats happened several times now is kind of lame. what are the limits
hehe if i dont know what im hitting neither will you
smile. threw away the gun and the demon was still there (I would have assumed/guessed the same)
1=20260108

S1E12
hehe "hopefully its not dangerous"
1=20260108

S2E01
hmm suspicious little girl. could she be a dragon in disguise?
1=20260108

S2E02
Ha! Grog thinks the buttocks are titties
"Bidet. Bidet. Bidet"
Hmm. A loophole based on what she said would be to bring the dragons to Vasselheim.
in earlier episodes they needed either Pike or Keyleth for light and here Vax pulls out his knife for light
Hehe. "You don't have to call out my shit..." and she tells him no one cares. But he almost isn't really phased by that either. He does make a short remark but it seemed kind of neutral to me.
Hehe. Goes into a meta trope, but he's told he's wrong
1=20260110

S2E03
hehe. Purvan
hehe a beard (good for disguise)
smile. eye twitch
hmm... isn't it a magical beard. so it would grow back? [yes]
I imagine they ditch Vox Machina, but will end up needing to be rescued by them
1=20260110

S2E04
Huh. The creature severed something... curious what.
1=20260111

S2E05
Huh. Scanlan wanted to have the broom burned? It's gotta be useful at some point.
The sword is captioned as Craven Edge
Holy crap. That's an insane transformation; practically like a Phoenix
He mentioned the dragon escaped with one of their own. Could have been that little girl from S2E01
1=20260111

S2E06
For me the obvious loophole keyword here is "any." Any would means it could be an emotional wound. So exactly making a jab about his mate could be a wound.
Hehe. An ingrown hair on his peen
(Vax just went and easily defeated) I think if anyone here wins it's Scanlan with wit as per my mental/emotional wound. In fact it was arguably foreshadowed earlier when he made the joke that the mate was not seeing anyone.
Hmm... the point of the vestiges is to defeat the dragon. So I don't think trying to defeat the dragon here, even with the help of this Sphinx, is possible
1=20260111

S2E07
Aww. Cute bird. Usually in these situations, the trope will be either the bird is deadly or there is something deadly around. [And there it is]
Don't understand? Vax expressed negativity.
Can she heal herself? How would that even work. My intuition is that somehow you use your energy to heal, but maybe it's like redistributing magical energy into a physical healing so it's not necessarily circular.
Holy crap. Destroying the Craven Edge seemed epic. Blood burst. Though not sure if there's consequence (ad is playing). Cause the sword threatened taking Grog with him. It's possible this is would segue into an opportunity for Grog to enter like a fantasy state and find his true inner strength.
hehe. all his muscles are gone
Rewinding, there are drawings of penis birds and vagina flowers (to the left and right, respectively, of the drawing of Vex)
Smile. The third drawing is of Percy with three dicks, each with the head of the other three (Vex, Vax, and Keyleth)
Chuckle. "Why do I have three peni?"
1=20260111

S2E08
(before episode) i didnt write it down but i think it's implied they are half elves, because why else would their father not like them and they left. the germinyidr guy was prying about different ears
and here vex mentions her father pulled them away from their mother.
chuckle. ready to stimulate himself
hehe. awoken from heart. she said her heart belongs to another. perhaps percy?
likely in this position she would kill him with percys gift
1=20260112

S2E09
hmm. he seems tough with the glove but no honor. could have punched without gloves
hmm. I'm not sure how this compares to his answer in the other episode where he said his heart
1=20260112

S2e10
nice battle
she has something to tell him, he thinks its love. i thought earlier when they met thst they would be siblings but we'll see
she locks the door... hardly seems like a sibling reveal would require that... also thinking earlier... she kept not wanting to let him out of her sight.
jawdrop. a daughter reveal. that's so awkward seeing your dad undress like that even if... and well appearance wise they look very same in age
1=20260112

S2E11
hehe. betting on the trope that he's just making this meeting of her mother up and she's gonna call him out on it
chuckle. lea. phoebe Janet burt?
1=20260112

S2E12
hehe wings
hmm. it might be one thing destiny means they dont die today but at the same time it doesnt mean they win either... not sure what vax is thinking in regards to destiny/fate
i guess the obvious thing is scanlan will say just 2 cause he will have retrieved the sword.
1=20260112

S3E01
I understand Keyleth's resistance, and good for her teammates to back her up, but first it seems the dragon could have easily taken them down. So why lay a trap when she could have already killed them. In particular, she did not hurt Keeper Yenne at all
It seems some of the group share some of these sentiments and logic. It's just that Keyleth has certain emotion behind it
Like... literally they don't have to trust Raishan, they just have to align with her help; again, she seems capable of killing them. she just saved them. so worst case scenario she's using them for something but they could have been dead anyways so they own her a favor in a sense; or worded differently, one can be thoughtful about how one uses information; one has to figure what is possible from partial information
well that's quite a twist (she has his former demon)
1=20260113

S3E02
Chuckle. "Kids are so stupid. Bang bang. Pa-chew."
oh no. trope here is he's gonna have to leave before his daughter finishes and it'll look bad; but not sure there are enough episodes left to worsen / extend their troubled relationship
Hmm. Not a bad move. If Ripley needs Percy alive, she would be forced to rescue him herself
Hmm. Interesting twist. Cause in the other scene, the fake was still able to contribute to an explosion. so it had some power to it
1=20260113

S3E03
Hehe. Talk before or after
hehe. Real smooth. I mean he delivered it so bluntly. What did he think was going to happen
Ah. "lead to friction." that's the theme of the entire episode. Vex-Percy, Keyleth-Vax, Scanlan-Pike.
Oh no. Vex's intuition was that where she suggests is in the open. Also earlier they asked how did the dragon know. Perhaps this person has betrayed them
Hehe. Karma
In any case, this dragon does a lot of damage but doesn't have any accuracy / precision.
1=20260113

S3E04
hehe. Keyleth earlier eats the worm and here flicks out her tongue
Hmm... I see. the everlight person was cryptic before. but Pike using her power to heal... that's what someone could want in this world. perhaps they could leave Hell with that kind of power.
hehe. "No cheating allowed" already sounds like cheaeting
I wonder if he cheated with saying it's on the right or left. Since did it mean his right or her right.
Hmm... another round... well she shouldn't look at the cards. That's for sure.
So really it's just conversation. So she should be asking more questions. There doesn't seem to be turns.
oh wow. that was good to watch. I mean like... we know they should succeed, but like... it was still suspenseful
hmm... how mysterious. he said something about Pike's blood
hehe 50-30
1=20260113

S3E05
Hmm. Weird point of view. Maybe it's their history but... does it really make sense to "trust" someone to flee a dragon all on their own. Maybe it's like gaslighting here. Would it hurt to accept help from friends? It just sounds like an unhealthy love
Hehe. Her hair
Chuckle. "You think they're gonna fight or fuck?"
What would the motivation of the demon to fight the dragon be? [it seems in the original campaign they intentionally summoned Yenk, but here it looks like it was pure luck
1=20260113

S3E06

S3E07
blood. but then what...
hmmm dead. seems like it can't be.  though... it is a nice thematic arc.  he broke the cycle of revenge.  what are the possibilities.  he looks like he got shot.   yeah i can't think but i would imagine... just trying to think of other cases where a main team member passes away.  like endgame maybe....; I don't bet... but I'd lean towards... somehow he comes back
1=20260114 AM

S3E08
it's just her bias. she didn't want to say it because she thought by saying it would kill him. and exactly she didn't say it but he died.... so... her believe about her curse just is ridiculous
oh he was able to remove the armor for sex
ah. I see what they did there. they had her call back the truth angle that they opened the episode with in the flashback
keyleth and her tension with raishan has been very annoying. there was a similar moment in another episode where it was just so offputting. the very very first time was okay. I think they could have toned it down a little. like here just saying "i told you we couldn't trust her" is definitely not what she said. she seemed to agree with the plan. also what about some empathy
1=20260115

S3E09
haha. "fuck the noise." grog takes command.
smile he says he blacked out.
"at least she's not fighting against us" (i would definitely lean to this)
oh damn. squished
oh he's alive!?!
oh wow. ok. he's like a ghost
I feel like (after Keyleth's attack) what if Pike absorbs the attack, and what's been happening is she loses control on shooting it back. but if they help hold her. like a gun. then maybe they can aim it back
hehe earlier Vax asked the other guy to help usher Zahra out of here but she's still around (and well we did see the shopkepeer run by himself)
curious how killing the egg in many of these cases was any harder than killing the eggs after they hatch because attacking the egg of a near hatching should be equal to attacking the egg of a already hatchling
it is pretty amazing how their team is really built perfect for all the different vestiges. mythcarver requires a sword that uses voice, Grog has gloves that is better for a melee brute, Vex has a bow and arrow. Some of the items seem more general like Vax and Pike's armor; Percy and Keyleth don't have vestiges
wait... they didn't even try to heal scanlan
oh wow, she ripped off her everlight amulet. epic.
obviously raishan will attack thordak (literally "obliterate *the enemy*")
but I'm curious if ripley will enter here in this battle
hmm... they gonna let him get away? I hope not; I don't think there are enough episodes left to drag this out. they gotta take out thordak and then perhaps ripley would somehow be a bigger enemy than thordak. since she's still alive
ooo driving through the place of the jewel gone is nice. oddly not as epic as Pike's blow but okay... so there's thordak checked off
some redemption for the character Keyleth here. choosing to say sorry
hehe plot twist; with that being said, at least thordak and his brood was defeated; and raishan did help. like I said before, temporary ally is good, doesn't mean they have to be friends after
1=20260115

S3E10
meh. I feel like this just makes the character (Keyleth) annoying.
makes sense here. Ripley
sheet music
plot twist. the Ashari afflicted Raishan of the disease
i don't get it. vax can fly, why can't he just go after the ship
oh right and vex had the broom. earlier they acted like they needed to be on it before it left...
1=20260115

S3E11
talk? or just sing the song he wrote
dude she's fucking crazy. blew the kegs. and now wants to have her stuff loaded and kills one of the crew
her flashing seems op. is there no limit to it...
oh shit. he found the weakness. he stabbed her cloak
damn haha. they poked fun at Titanic movie (both fitting on the plank of wood)
she probably wants to be killed so she can enter Thordak
1=20260115

S3E12
oddly if she gave her the disease, she could have also taken it away. which I suspected would have been possible. what a shame. but why did it kill Raishan immediately
seems contradictory. why say the first part and then say "especially one that does not wish to leave." Either it is possible but difficult if one does not wish to leave or it is not possible regardless
huh. Vax was inflicted
haha he's joking
chuckle. "the Slayer's Take"
when Pike was speaking with Kaylie, I thought she did hint at feelings for Scanlan. So I'm suprised she wasn't going to join him
huh. they showed that orb from the other season. but I think this is the last episode, right? [apparently there will be a fourth season likely to be released some time in 2026, though season 3 had realeased back in 2024, and there is a greenlit final season 5]
1=20260115

S4E01
1a: ha! "nothings working down there"
1b: Resume at the 12 minute mark
1b: Did something lay this deer as a trap?
1b: I'm gonna guess someone comes to help Vex. I don't think it would be Percy (she just fell down a patch of thorns)
1b: Ah. she managed to kill it. Technically with help, but not what I meant
1b: hehe. that tandem "what the f*ck"
1b: Jeez. what was that jewel?
1a=20260714, 1b=20260717

S4E02
1: Hehe. Little elf girl.
1: Hehe. Spike and Greg
1: Smile. "I'm going to kill Spike and Greg
1: Kraken
1: Wow. the head is still alive
1: I don't get it. Did they plant the lodestone on the Kraken for this trial?
1=20260717

S4E03
1=20260717

S4E04
1: Smile. "Which one of us is Greg?" - Grog
1: Not a hat man.
1: Hahaha. "Okay. Next time. Give yourself a soggy cooch." "I had to make a choice."
1: Wow. Darrington offers and just goes first.
1: "Smile. Wait. Silver pieces..."
1: Hehe. Grog just goes for it.
1: Huh. he knows what the Ashari artifact does.
1: ooo magic carpet
1: wow just drops the artifact
1: Tary's song (I wasn't able to watch credits in previous episodes cause it auto skipped)
1=20260717

S4E05
1: Ah. I recently watched Season 1 of Mighty Nein which centered heavily on Cobalt Soul
1: So we know the plan goes wrong but we don't know how/when (Pike holding the amulet holding Grog)
1: Wow. They barely defeated the two monks 2v2.
1: Hehe. The amulet of truth can work against them. If someone asks they won't be able to conceal themselves. ("You actually look kind of dumpy." "Excuse you?")
1: Grog said the inside spelled like poop. So the amulet is more like a home... but how would it get cleaned out. I thought going into the amulet would have been like... freezing time. Maybe that would be OP. If you were on the verge of dying you could just go into the amulet.
1: Grog had to dumb it down. "You crank. I find book."
1: Scanlan's song
1=20260717

S4E06
1: Watching the intro, the weapon Scanlan holds looks like the weapon from Grog's story with the four champions
1: I'm curious about the holy man that helped their community.
1: Huh. He seems shady. Too good to be true. ("I need to stay on my A game.")
1: Ah. there it is. "We are his blood"
1: "Sleep well, sweet metal prince."
1: Wow. I think Gideon was at the funeral. And here he is again. Way up higher than we would have thought. Something about trickfoot.
1: Had to rewatch this seen. "Almost had one Trickfoot." I guess perhaps the bloodline is important? "Now [Wilhand] is lost and [Pike] wavers in her faith." "She must see the light willingly."
1: Not enough information to guess what they want with Pike. Or maybe they need all the champions to unlock whatever was locked originally.
1: Plain credit song
1=20260718

S4E07
1: Oh. Delilah presents herself to Vax and Percy. And now I realize what the previous episode ending was about. It was revealed that the person that's been creating trouble was Delilah - I just hadn't remembered who Delilah was - and that she reports to Gideon.
1: The speaking Sylas is the work of that person Vex just met? The one that said she dabbled in magic?
1: Hmm. Seems too easy. It'd be anticlimatic to have defeated Delilah so easily as this. What if in some strange twist this person that helped Vex was Delilah
1: Darn. I made too many predictions. So I'm only half right.
1: Plain credit song
1=20260718

S4E08
1: Hehe. So Scanlan is like Elvis?
1: what does "no questing" sign mean
1: it doesnt make sense to me to try and cure cause matron could just reinflict
1: "Also no bears"
1: "I can't read" - Grog
1: Chuckle. "It's a deck of infinite posi-titties."
1: Hehe. How do you still have your fingers.
1: I feel like facts about a person is not quite the same. I have various close friends who I don't know much about their personal lives, but that doesn't mean I don't know how they tick
1: Ooo. Damn. Sharp. Kaylie says that Scanlan didn't know her mother's name
1: Is there gonna be a twist with the guitarist? Earlier they gave him like... a look... the type of foreshadowing look...
1: There it is.
1: hehe a song battle
1: hehe. the harmonizing (and the fact that Taryon initiated it does add to the credibility of how helpful he is - something Percy tried to defend earlier)
1: I don't understand this resurrecting bit though. Seems OP. better have a decent explanation
1: Scanlan' Lament (?)
1=20260718

S4E09
1: Hehe. The "Unalive Five": Delilah, the beast one, the guitarist, the priestess, and I don't remember the fifth person in the top right (maybe he was the one that nearly killed Grog)
1: Hmm. Thinking about how this enemy team has a guitartist and Vox Machina not having Scanlan seems... off. That is, I would think Scanlan shows up as an equalizer
1: I guess her character is like this (stressed out) but it's getting annoying. She was really annoying like this earlier on as well - I vaguely recall Season 1 - until at some point she was more of a normal character.
1: oh no... simply kicked out of the circle... though I wonder how long it would have taken inside the circle to have died. perhaps they should have decapitated her inside the circle
1: What!?! for reals?
1=20260718

S4E10
1: Uh. She expects to take them on herself? Grog could hardly handle the one guy
1: Hmm... neither do they know if there aren't other orbs they could return through
1: Hmm. I mean death is kind of natural. What would happen if there is no death
1: That's a tough prediction. I dont' know if Pike would choose to save Grog and risk lives of many... Gideon does seem like a sweet talker. Maybe she has something up her sleeves? I remember watching Naruto and Lady Tsunade seemed equally tempted to bring her loved ones back to life but she refused. From that trope, I guess Pike will refuse.
1=20260718

S4E11
1: Gideon was talking about free will, but applying pressure with resurrecting Grog is like... his leverage. I guess the thing with free will is... Perhaps I mean, there's choice and then there's an illusion of choice.
1: fits the stereotypical cult leader: convince just about anybody to join ("I am his blood.")
1=20260719 AM

S4E12
1: Oh right, multiple vestiges (Keyleth mentions): chest, sword, and gloves
1: Interesting. Pike calls out "Choose your own fate" and Vax replies "That's not how fate works." Since if you believe in fate, you don't choose it. Your choices lead into it.
1: She's so blind to what Gideon told her that she still believes death won't matter when they were just telling her four of the persons died permanently
1: wow the tension is real
1: wow. she's full nuts. wanted to save Grog and now she hurt Grog
1: Wow. "Then it seems our fates are sealed, champion." "Fuck fate."
1: Interesting. He decided to leave it to them... and he kept his word on it? But technically he's still a god? [Google search: see next]
1: Rewatching, he said "Congratulations heroes. You saved the realm. Forever. You shall be remembered." [Google search: oh, he is being sarcastic]
1: [I tried to read a bunch more to understand. I think there are several key components. First is Vax's point of view for fate. He was already committed to dying. Second is teamwork (they all decided to submit), but strategic rejection by Vax to give hope to the people and keep the Whispered One from full power. Third...]
