haha doesn't know how to spell Schneebly
that's crazy how much gear he has in van
I get he's doing this all selfishly, but it would have been much cooler and revolutionary if the entire class was involved in the band itself as opposed to various things like security and equipment [though I guess there's an element of real life...]. I imagine what would happen is some kids have a hidden talent.
haha. "What about pig rectum?"
Hehe. Just quoting song lyrics.
"loosey goosey baby loosey goosey"
how do the other classrooms not hear the constant music playing?
Ha. "Ms. Mullins, you're the Man." "Thank you, Freddie."
Hehe. Slightly hypocritical: he chews the adults out for hanging out with the 10 year old but he himself is taking advantage of them
oh "hammer of the gods"
oh I see. they show how they hide the instruments. I was wondering about that earlier.
hehe. E=MC squared
that beer is probably just colored water. no head. no signs of carbonation
haha phrasing "touched"
this end with Jack Black saying to play Zack's song is emotional and wins over kind of his lying to the kids
hehe. what category is this? alternative soft rock?
oh nice she got a solo
Haha. they caught him
Awww. the bassist didn't get a solo [apparently they did a reunion concert in 2010 where she gets to give the second solo: https://youtu.be/refCJcJJZso?si=22HoVFtxZRQ5ly8J. the guitarist and drum solo were good, but her solo was my favorite]

Green Lantern (2011)
20240114:
My blog started at the end of 2009 and this movie was released in 2011 so if I saw it I would have likely blogged about it. However, there is no blog post of this movie and yet I vaguely recall the idea of Ryan Reynolds being Green Lantern in a way that makes me think I've seen the movie. With that being said, I could have simply seen trailers for the movie, which would be more likely given the rate at which I fail to record watching a movie.
After completing the film, I felt that it was likely my first viewing. In any case, I think part of what makes the Green Lantern fun is the ability to come up with different creations with the ring. The movie incorporated this a little bit in Hal's "training" but I thought his creations at the end of the movie was unsatisfying. In fact, the entire ending was underwhelming. Parallax was made to sound like a very powerful villain and somehow Hal Jordan was able to defeat him. The movie was supposed to be working up to the idea that Hal's will was very powerful but I don't think it managed to convince me of that. The character Carol gave Hal a speech about getting over his fear, yeah, that was great, but I didn't recognize where that speech translated into the actual moment of overcoming his fear and embracing his will.
Netflix determined the movie for me as a 95% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

Sinestro communicates that Abin Sur said "It's Parallax"
Hehe. She recognizes him.
The woman who takes Hector Hammond in is Amanda Walker. This is the same character that was putting the Suicide Squad together in the 2016 movie Suicide Squad. However, the character in this movie is played by Angela Bassett while the character in Suicide Squad is played by Viola Davis.
Weird. Parallax comes and says "You have failed me." absorbs Hector... Well I guess the entity could detect Hector...
Hmm seems too easy. Why didn't anyone think to simply burn up Parallax in a sun before?

Telling Batman's backstory in a few minutes of this film seems like a waste. Why did the movie studios rush to make Batman v Superman when they could have given Batman his own movie or two first?
This character named Jack is dying and I don't even know why I'm supposed to care. Clearly Bruce cares for this Jack person
Hmm... This movie implying the collateral damage involved due to Zod's invasion... the thing is... it seems like many people are gonna lay blame on Superman when he's more of a victim
Hmm. "ignorance is not the same as innocence"
Nothing wrong with Jesse Eisenberg, but I never thought Lex Luthor to be such an animated person. I always thought of him as a much deeper thinker. I feel, if anything, this portrayal of Lex could have instead made a great Joker [someone else on the internet mentioned Riddler. yeah, I can see that as well, but not as Lex]
I think in reality there's no way decryption would have a percentage completion rate.
The funny thing about some of these grouped fights... I think in fist fights a guy waiting to attack makes sense. I feel here with guns, there was a gun with a gun and he basically waited for his turn to be attacked by Batman before raising his weapon instead of getting ready to fire on Batman while someone else was engaging with Batman.
Generally this entire fight sequence is poorly choreographed
Superman arrives at the congressional meeting and people are yelling get out and such. It was mentioned earlier that there are philosophical questions... At that time I was agreeing. Many people believe in gods and higher beings... and yet when such a god-like being reveals itself, there is judgement. Have people ever thought about what would happen if their god showed up and decided to make changes? Would people turn on such a god in the same way they are reacting to Superman?
Wow. Luthor's assistant was in the building.
Exactly 100,000? That seems like an unlikely number to report. If the ship had said "at least 100,000" or some exact number that's not exactly 100,000 like 137,444, then that would have been believable
Bruce opens up the folder with all the meta humans. I think at least one of the characters not Wonder Woman should have had a movie prior to Justice League as well as a Batman movie. Just comparing with the MCU, four of the six (original MCU) Avengers got a movie prior to The Avengers: Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. And based on their abilities, Hawkeye and Black Widow not having a movie prior to The Avengers is sensible.
Hehe. The Wonder Woman theme song.
Hmm. He has his mouth exposed. What's the point of such a suit with your mouth exposed? Superman could theoretically just aim his beams right into the hole
Hehe. What if he was still away and Lois just dropped to her death?
The way way he said that was exactly like a Joker... ("bring me the head of the bat... Mother of God will you look at the time...")
Uh... that's dumb. The Wonder Woman theme is playing as she watches the videos for Flash and Aquaman. See if their movies were already made prior to this movie, then it could have been their theme songs playing.
Hehe. This isn't even really a fight.
Hmm. There could be the small possibility that Bruce knows what Luthor is up to and simply has to put on a show. (Bathman has just kneeled Superman down through the skylight)
I think this movie is much less cool without first a movie that puts us into this particular Batman's mind. It fails to have us empathize with Batman in any way. At least personally I think of Batman as the villain here.
Oh wow. Coincidentally both their mothers are named Martha as being what saves Superman's life
That's quite a trust... They are basically strangers, but Superman will trust his mother's life in Batman's hands
Huh. The knife pierced his suit but a gun wasn't able to shoot through his helmet
Doomsday
Hmm. Hw did Lex intend to kill Doomsday even if Doomsday killed Superman?
"Is she with you?" "I thought she was with you." Wonder Woman theme resumes... (hmm... it was cool when the Wonder Woman theme played when she dropped in. but during this fight with the three of them... kind of awkward) [apparently it was used a lot in the Justice League Synder cut to the extent for some people to ask. in one Reddit thread someone made a joke about the theme song playing after Wonder Woman opens a fridge; I had a good laugh]
Hehe. Luthor gets his head shaved for the classic Lex Luthor look
This "he's coming moment" makes Lex seem responsive instead of calculating and ahead of the game. He doesn't seem cool and thoughful. He sounds psychotic (again like a Gotham villain)
Why would the dirt rise?

Murder on the Orient Express (1974)
20240113:
I thought the movie was slow at times. As this was the first film I've seen with the character Hercule Poirot, I had mostly thought about how the character compares and contrasts to (movie portrayals of) the character Sherlock Holmes.

I would say I'm not a fan of this opening
Ha! Again, "no" ("you have crossed by the ferry?")
That's strange... so it got dark as they passed through the tunnel and the man he was speaking to disappeared.
Interesting. A net for his hair and a stay for his mustache
And gloves on top of lotioned hands
"AISY ARMS"
Hehe. Poirot subtly pulls the hankerchief
Hehe. After every person thus far Bianchi says he/she did it (Poirot had just interviewed Greta Ohlsson)
Hildegarde
The one couple stabbed as one. So if there were 12 people. Then it would be 11 stabs. [Apparently there were 13 names]
How did the chain get locked?
Huh. Poirot gave them an out.

John Wick (2014)
20240112:
I knew nothing about the movie, except that multiple sequels were released, it's an action movie, and it stars Keanu Reeves. However, I decided to jump on the opportunity to watch the first film as recently the first three films were added to Netflix.

That's quite an opening.
"It's days like today scattered among the rest."
Why aren't dogs supposed to sleep on the bed? [Apparently there are reasons]
What? No seat belt?
Hehe. I thought he was gonna drive between two of the cars.
Hehe. He doesn't even clean up or change his clothes before taking a bus. Just casually walking around with a bloody face and bloody t-shirt
Peligroso
Smile. Wow. What a great conversation.
Hmm. He told his son that there was nothing to do, but he still will give send a force out to kill John. I'm curious as to why...
I like this choreography. It has a rhythm to it, which I guess that's something to say about the music. I also like the lighting. It wasn't completely dark
Hehe doorbell rings
Hehe "I'll leave you be then" (is the comment made after seeing the body on the floor)
Ah. "Dinner reservation for twelve" meant the number of bodies to be disposed
Huh. Why wouldn't Marcus bargain for a higher private payout... I feel like Viggo wouldn't have approached him other than for a particular skillset
Huh. What song is this? ("Break your heart... in the dark") [It's called "Think" by Kaleida]
Hehe. Most of these security persons don't seem to be carrying guns. And the ones that are carrying guns don't seem to be holding them in a ready to fire position - unlike Wick which is firing on sight. Though I guess Wick is able to identify them easily and not the other way around.
Hahaha. The doctor is straightforward. Gives him pills to take if he still has business to attend to, says his stitches will tear, he'll bleed, but he'll have full function...
"Do you need anything for the pain?" "No I got that covered."
I noticed that John is wearing his watch with the face on the inside
I had read the Wikipedia page for the film. The Wikipedia page says that Marcus "fires a warning shot to alert John." But it didn't look like a warning shot. With that being said, he could have fired already and didn't... so perhaps. [Watching the scene over, the crosshair is on John, but the scene cuts to Marcus, and then cuts back to John when the bullet hits the pillow; this implies there was in fact enough time to focus and Marcus as a hired hitman surely wouldn't have missed][Going to Reddit, apparently there's some foreshadowing earlier with respect to Marcus]
Hehe. "Viggo will kill me" (well better later than sooner)
Hehe. Apparently later came quite soon
Holy shit. She broke rules more than once. No honor among hitmen.
Hehe. The way to hurt John Wick... by hitting him with a car.
I like how quick John made that. That Iosef did not get time to finish his sentence. Though enough to understand what he was trying to say.
Hmm... Viggo has his life... and now he has the balls to torture Marcus
The same song that played earlier as foreshadowing plays here now
Hehe. Killed from four sides (cool but in reality seems risky... what if a bullet went straight through)
Hehe. It seems Viggo knows he's gonna die by Wick's hand... (as he's laughing the car)
Hehe. Viggo rams John's car with the car... kind of following up on the only way to take down John earlier...
He threw away the gun, but he should still have a knife at his leg just in case...
Hehe. "Do I look civilized to you?"
Hehe. Takes the stab! Is there such a thing as a safe place to stab yourself?
Huh. I didn't think about what stitches actually do... as he just kind of throws a couple of staples at his reopened wound. [I watched the scene again, he did pinch it shut with the other hand][Apparently this: "Without stitches, wound healing can take 3 weeks or more. And the risk of infection continues the longer the wound takes to heal. More bleeding: Deep wounds can continue bleeding without stitches. Stitches bring the edges of the wound together and add pressure, which helps the clotting process." goodrx.com]
