20230629:
This was on my list due to the Netlfix preview, but the movie started off with a slightly different - perhaps more humorous tone than the preview would have indicated. In any case, at first the movie seemed to have elements of Kill Bill in it. However, as the movie progressed, the deeper story began to unravel and all the connections and reveals made for an exciting second half of the film. In particular, the resulting climax and resolution were excellent.
Instant Comments:
Thomas the Train Engine
Haha. Percy.
Whoa. Double swords crossed through the neck.
The Prince.
Huh. I can't tell if he just died of something or if he was killed
WTF happened? (how did everybody at the wedding except him die?)
LOL. WTF. What are the chances? (blade deflects and lands back at him in the heart
Hehe. "Let this be lesson in the toxicity of anger."
Hehe. "Shitballs. That wasn't a minute."
Smile. I'm not a Diesel, you're a Diesel.
The Boomslang.
This passenger looks familiar [Channing Tatum] ("Is this like a... sex thing?")
Hahaha. What dumb bad luck (opens the case with a spin; "Yeah... so no one gets greedy.")
"Tell Tangerine he's Gordon."
Oh no, poor Lemon.
The Hornet
How come Wolf came to kill The Hornet (who he has photos of) but attacked Ladybug?
Hahaha. "Oh, shit, man. Do you have a backup?" "What do you think, bitch?" (I mean... I can see her using the poison safely against civilians, but against a professional... it's a big risk; alternatively, I would have thought she was immune)
Why did it take her so long to die? (compared to The Son)
Karma is a bitch.
Huh. Not entirely sure why Ladybug interferred with Lemon trying to shoot the Prince
Haha. Him flushing the snake is hilarious.
Smile. "My grandson was pushed off a roof. What makes you think I would leave him unprotected."
Oh shit. The snake isn't dead.
The Elder
Smile. "I don't want to hold the seven sorrows."
Oh wow. Twist. (bullet proof vest)
"You... you were more like Thomas, anyway."
I wonder if he will get revenge (if Lemon will kill Prince)
Did Kimura inform Ladybug that the case is armed?
Ooo. Another twist. ("Daughter" "Father")
Hmm. He blames other people for what is more a consequence of his life of crime...
Carver (Ryan Reynolds)
As this crazy fighting is going on (guys on the roof get killed from stray gun fire), I'm thinking someone will die from that snake in the toilet.
Hehe. The Water Bottle.
I feel like this over-the-top crash was well done and actually quite enjoyable to watch
Yikes... what a... he finally fired his daughter's gun.
Haha. "The narcisscism on this chick. Unbelievable."
Smile. "Was that karma?" "Farewell, tentomushi." "Tangerine." (wow)
Sandra Bullock
"I'm ballpointing" [apparently some similar expressions for poop are "touching cloth" and "turtling"]
Hehe. Lemon! (oh wow, so my question on revenge turned out to be yes)

Pitch Black (2000)
Instant Comments:
Wow she was gonna dispose of 40 passengers for herself? Even if you weren't a compassionate person, how could you live with the guilt?
Holy moly. Is that possible for a human to do?
LOL. Riddick casually sitting and drinking alcohol
How did they pick who to go into the hole? And what do they have to gain to investigate?
Hehe nice. He repeated it back. "I want you to remember this moment."
Morphine goes into the eyes?
Solar-powered vehicles are great on this planet except during the eclipse
How long does this eclipse last? Also, what do these creatures eat if everything on the surface is dead? Each other? [there's a wiki that says "forcing [the bioraptors] to either survive off eating one another, or possibly subterranean prey, but the later is unlikely"; the next sentence says teh eclipse last several months]
Hehe blinded by the light as he's running away.
Smile. Looks clear scene.
Hehe. Visual of flame from alcohol.
The visual through Riddick's eyes.
Haha. "Don't look."
"Do not look up! Do not look up!" (she looks up) "They're killing each other."
"He did not know who he was fucking with."
"Where the hell's your God now?"
Why would they keep the flame burning while in the safety of that cave?
Hehe this scene where he stays in the blindspot. Pretty cool.
Oh no... "I'd say I'd die for them, not for you." (technically she did)
"Not for me. Not for me!"
"Tell 'em Riddick's dead. He died somewhere on that planet."
Granted they're on this little emergency ship... How do they really go anywhere?

The Adam Project (2022)
Instant Comments:
"The future is coming. Sooner than you think."
Hahaha. "When I say classified, what do you hear? 'Chocolate'?"
He said he was aiming for a specific year. But if he had already run into himself, we would have known. Oh also earlier he asked the child how old he was. Again, it suggests this would be a parallel timelines or multiverse type of movie as opposed to a closed time loop.
Hehe. This young Adam is asking questions and then says "Unless it works like a multiverse..."
Huh. Adult Adam gives an answer about a kind of universal Adam that exists.
Hehe synchronized eating.
Why don't these other people have sticks? [Oh they do]
Huh, why don't they have a extendable stick like adult Adam?
He mentioned some rule about dying outside your fixed time.
This was a brain teaser for me to hear in the short time it is spoken. "How did it come back if it never left?" "Unless someone went back and altered the time stream, so the future the jet had left from had already been changed." But it makes much more sense to pause and read.
Smile. "God, it's like I traded my brains for those muscles."
Hmm. This is all sort of confusing in terms of plausibility.
That was a pretty cool manuever. (Drop and hide)
"Punch that shit."
Hehe. He recognizes his son as an adult.
His dad quickly figures (well after first being calmed with a punch) the implication is that the timeline has already been altered.
Huh. This interaction Maya has with herself could theoretically unpredictably ruin the future.
Hehe. Eight-year old Adam playing flight game
Ooo. His dad built the game.
I imagine that... he's a smart guy. He probably figured, despite not being told, that he's going to die in the near future; furthermore some time between the present day and 2022. However, what I think is that Sorian might have had a hand in his death, so in changing the present, he might not die... I'm not sure if that'd be in line with the current rules, but to me this seems like a plausible happy ending.
"Hey you got time."
He mumbles to himself. "It's later than you think"
"Roger that middle-age Adam"
Oh interesting. He's saying there are two copies of the algorithm, in his head and in a chip. So... if like the Terminator, and he doesn't want time travel to exist (or perhaps postpone the existence of it) then he should also probably destroy himself (or else someone would torture it out of him)
Hehe. I was just about to note he seems like a sitting duck if he's not watching himself when a ship comes down behind him.
Huh. Those batons are not metallic?
Smile. "Superhero landing."
Oh crap. I'm thinking young Sorian might see her evil older self and intercept the bullet.
Ooo. Twist. The bullet curved and kills her younger self.
"There's something we need to tell you." "I... I already know. I knew the moment I saw you."

Uncharted (2022)
20230617:
While I've never played the game, I enjoyed watching Tom Holland in Spider-Man, and the general gist of an Indiana-Jones-like story is surely appealing on its own.
Instant Comments:
1a: I think they showed Victor lifting the piece off of Nathan. [yes, I played it back and it's more clear the second time I watched it]
1a: Paused at 16 minute mark.
1b: Resumed at 16 minute mark.
1b: Smile. "What are you gonna do with that kind of money?"
1b: Huh. I didn't see that lift.
1b: Smile. "I got a bad ankle."
1b: Holy moly. WTF. His own father!?!
1b: "When did you decide you want tobe Indiana Jones."
1b: I feel like all these keyholes could have been picked as opposed to needing the original keys...
1b: Huh. Well salt is valuable?
1b: Why did all the barrels burst?
1b: There were four barrels, and only one map?
1b: That sucks. He saved her life... Though to be fair she didn't shoot him, just knock him out.
1b: Wow. (Jo kills him)
1b: Hehe. He really should have just put on a parachute before doing this.
1b: Huh. In the beginning of the movie it looked like he came too while strapped. But here it doesn't seem that way.
1b: Hehe. Does that make them even?
1b: "Somewhere"
1b: Huh. Who is this person? "Something like that happened to me once." [Apparently he is Nolan North, the voice actor for Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series]
1b: As he's looking at the postcards trying to figure something out, I would think it has to do with lighting the cards just as the hidden message was revealed when Sam gave Nathan the lighter.
1b: It's a good thing Nathan kept all the cards.
1b: Hahaha. That's a good test (he left incorrect coordinates out in the open... if she did the right thing and not just get up and leave she would have been rewarded)
1b: Typical of these types of movies. Everybody always converges to the treasure anyways... (the bad guy sees him passing by and says "what the hell"); though thinking about it, what is she doing near the shore anyways
1b: How did these ships get inside the cave?
1b: That gold must be heavy, but he didn't make it seem heavy.
1b: Smile. "Hey, Jack Sparrow. Stay sharp."
1b: Huh. It didn't look possible to climb up to the helicopter easily...
1b: How much value did those ships go down? (Jo didn't seem to be so upset as she had threatened)
1b: Hehe he picks up the gun holsters, which I believe would be Nathan Drake's classic look
1b: Hehe, the not working lighter.
1b: Hmm... Seems stupid. Gambling with his life. He saw the cannon was about to fire. Could have chose to attempt to dodge it... Though perhaps there was a time slow and there wasn't really much time to react. Perhaps to some extent the reaction of the pilot was unrealistic - he seemed to have a look of relief that it didn't fire but would he have really been able to tell if such a moment occurred?
1b: Hmm. Why would she be greedy with two ships? She could just have the one. In addition, even if a boat sank, you could just launch a diving expedition [this particular point on the diving expedition is addressed in a few minutes]
1b: Smile. "You first."
1b: "We could just get a diving rig." "Not before those guys, it's the property of the Phillipines now."
1b: Also typical. Most of the treasure is lost except for a little bit saved
1b: Huh. Interesting pre-credits scene. Isort of figured but I guess with enough doubt
1b: Mid-credits scene. "Ah crap."

Pitch Perfect (2012)
20230613:
I love "Cups (Pitch Perfect's 'When I'm Gone')" (Anna Kendrick), I've seen the music video, and I've seen the cast's performance of "Love On Top." Oh, I've also seen the trailer for Pitch Perfect 2. And so while I didn't know what the plot of Pitch Perfect was about, I was also somehow surprised that it was not what I had expected. Trying to reflect further, I find it hard to gather the words to better describe the feeling other than one of dissonance between the media I associated with the title Pitch Perfect and the actual story of the movie Pitch Perfect.
In any case, I enjoyed the movie.
As an aside, I was initially surprised to find it was also a comedy. Upon first thought, I probably associatiate a movie about competition to be more serious. However, as I give more thought to it, the trope of competition surely consists of both drama and comedy films (among other possibilities), e.g., Days of Thunder (Nascar-racing drama) and Talledega Nights (Nascar-racing comedy).*
If you like comedies and/or films with singing, then I would surely recommend Pitch Perfect. As a brief plot summary, the movie is about a college Freshman (Anna Kendrick) who joins an acapella group. The group initially struggles to impress, but they have their sight on winning the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA).
*Originally I thought about comparing Pitch Perfect to Work It, but apparently Work It is - according to Wikipedia - a "dance comedy film." I recall it had some humor, but I feel it wasn't nearly as funny as Pitch Perfect so as to be considered a comedy. The comedy part aside, it also occurred to me that Work It was released in 2020, long after Pitch Perfect.
Instant Comments:
1: HA! "man who sings like a boy"
1: Huh. Did the one who was running not there yet? They didn't quite show her running into the group
1: Ouch. "Women are as good at being doctors tas they are as being doctors"
1: I get the point they were trying to make, but I kind of like that version of "The Sign" (Ace of Base) more than whatever the boy group sang
1: Whoa. That was a lot of vomit.
1: Smile. "Don't blow it unless it's actually happening"
1: What? Don't they do like dorm matches or something?
1: Smile. "I'm going to the activities fair."
1: Yikes. Balonga
1: HAHA. "Yeah, so twig bitches like you don't do it behind my back."
1: Hehe. The juxtaposition of calling that guy a nerd.
1: Hahaha. "Please, no sex on the desk."
1: That's annoying to have your dad check in on you at your dorm room.
1: Hahahaha... Treblemakers part of the initiatiation oath
1: Hehe. Interesting. She figures there's ten of them and so (statistically at least) one of them is a lesbian.
1: Lol. What a weird requirement to be in the group.
1: Hahahaha. "What happened last year" and "Do you guys want to see a dead body"
1: Ooo. "I'm pretty sure you need me more than I need you."
Truth.
1: "At least it's not herpes." Smile. "Or do you have that as well" HAHAHAHA.
1: "No Diggity" (Blackstreet)
1: The word "It's" vs "It" (ridiculous)
1: Lol. Why would they have to be so mean.
1: Huh. What's this woman's problem? Arrogant? Threatened?
1: WTF. Same song?
1: Oh, she's a senior so... I guess she has defenses up against the suggestions of a freshman
1: She even has a grumpy face at Amy's awesome solo
1: Smile. Hahaha. "The Minstrel Cycles" "What an unfortunate name"
1: Ha! "Can I help?"
1: Smile. "I did a turn at county."
1: Smile. "I set fires to feel joy."
1: Hmm. That look looks like they secretly decided to change it up.
1: Huh. Benji went after Beca? He hadn't interacted with her before...
1: She's gonna see "The Breakfast Club" [hehe of course]
1: OMG. Vomit. Wrestling. Rape whistle. And vomit angel
1: Aww. "I ate my twin in the womb."
1: Hehe. "Excuse me, bitch. You don't need to shout."
1: That bass really makes a difference.
1: The only thing I felt wanting from the performance was highlighting the beatboxing just a little more. At the beginning she did the record scratch, but aside from that it was not a focus during the performance. I think the same comment regarding the ability for Chloe to sing bass. [rewatching the performance, I think the performance was good the way it was. however I would rephrase my desire as having a scene where the two pieces have their place to shine. or perhaps it would make a good deleted scene]
Credits:
1: Based on a book.
1: Elizabeth Banks is one of the producers.
1: An outtake.
1: A lot of the credits are "{name of group} #{number}"
1: As the credits roll, I'm thinking about how her general dream of being a DJ didn't play a large roll in the movie. It implicitly signals she knows how to layer beats, she might have mentioned it, but it could have easily taken maybe five to ten minutes to be more explicit. I suppose it was more of a red herring in which she met the other singer.
1: Huh. Weird. "Titanium" is there twice. The first time "Performed by David Guetta feat. Sia" and then the second time just the song (meaning I guess when it's performed by someone in the movie).
1: I read about "Cups (song)" and "Carter Family" on Wikipedia
1: Huh. I don't remember "F**k You" (Lily Allen)
1: There's a little beat boxing bit at the end of the credits

Bruce Almighty (2003)
20230610:
I recall having seen the end of this movie before.
20230612:
After completing the movie, I felt like I hadn't seen the entire movie before - with that being said, there's definitely been instances where I have record of having seen a movie and don't remember even having seen it.
Instant Comments:
1a: Hehe. Rat poop
1a: "And that's the way the cookie crumbles"
1a: Hehe. Still peeing the entire way.
1a: Smile. "I wish I had written something."
1a: As he storms out, I looked up the year of the movie. And then I learned that Evan Almighty is actually a spin-off of this movie.
1a: Hehe. The Clapper.
1a: Hehe. An extra long drawer.
1a: Hehe. "Be careful what you wish for, punk."
1a: Smile. The parting of the soup.
1a: "I am Bruce Almighty. My will be done."
1a: LOL. Pulling the moon closer. That can't be good.
1a: Oh: "unusual lunar activity"
1a: Hehe. Bigger boobs.
1a: Oh no. Planted marijuana.
1a: Paused at 56 minute mark.
1b: Continued they're at the restaurant and he's about to tell her some news. as expected its not a marriage proposal. i thought he might tell her he's god [I forgot he can't tell anyone that] he says he got anchor
1b: smile. file cabinets. post-its.
1b: clear
1b: smile AB positive
1b: be the miracle. huh I vaguely remember him going back to "that's the way the cookie crumbles," so apparently I didn't remember much about the movie other than some snippets (maybe I only saw some snippets to begin with)

1: Hahaha. Hahaha. He's still screaming for help.
1: Wow. Good shooting (her shots enable a hole through the door)
1: Hehe. "Learn to count."
1: Howard Stark
1: "I'd say that last night was more a notch in her belt than a feather in her cap." [I was confused by this. It seems the two sayings have similar meanings, though it was mentioned that the belt one was historically more used for men. In context of Agent Flynn's comment, then perhaps Stark could have more simply said "I'd say that last night was more of an accomplishment than something to be ashamed of"]
Credits:
1: "It's called a bikini." "You invented it?" "No, the French" [I looked into this and it appears to be a partial truth. See Bikini (Wikipedia). Interestingly, the "bikinis" being worn by the two women in this mid-credits scene appear to be less revealing than the two-piece swimsuit designed by Louis Réard - in part because they seem to be wearing wraps which cover the bikini bottoms]

1: Hahahaahhahaha. Hahahahaha. Slowly reaches for his melting stick. And actually goes through with it. The woman playing the tambourine is crouching in fear.
1: Hahahaha. That mock phone call to Mrs. Richardson
1: Haha. "I didn't force him to say that."
1: Aww. "Miss my old house mate." [it seems that's the end of the One Shots. they really should follow up on this with Thor somehow rooming with Darryl some more. or turn it into a TV series!]

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Instant Comments:
Huh. Is that the guy from Loki?
Hahaha. "Thank-you, Spider-man."
Huh. Anchor Brewing. I feel like... I would not have expected a branded product
Is he dreaming? Because this all sounds unreal even if he's an Avenger
Hahahaha. Hahaha. Not only his book reading but very funny portion
Does Cassie not keep her suit on her?
Hmm... to be fair, if Janet had been more communicative perhaps they wouldn't have gotten in this mess. Also she keeps saying she'll explain, but there's no time to explain, and yet there seems plenty of time to explain
Hehe. "Was that a... good stab?"
Probably drinking the ooze will allow him to understand them
Hehe. Thinks about it a moment. (I would have to as well; 7 holes)
The Conqueror
Hehe. The "brocoli" hits on Hope
Hehe Bill Murray is this Krylar fellow
Yeah okay. So she was holding back. Lame. Though I guess she isn't so good at it which is why she didn't use the suit earlier. Though I guess the suit doesn't protect you from damage
Hehe. Scott gives Cassie a tip ("jump and tap")
Huh, I don't remember how this guy got banished to the Quantum Realm
M.O.D.O.K.
The face on M.O.D.O.K. seems unnatural
"And then, what are you going to do?" "Win"
Oh. She still had her Wasp suit.
Did he create all the other life or was that already there?
I don't get it. How is the whole thing the engine, and yet the important part is in the center [after they shrink it, it seems perhaps the idea is that only the middle part can be affected]
This idea of a probability storm is kind of cool.
Hehe. Working together like ants (Cassie reached out to Scott)
"How are you doing that?" "I'll tell you how. We all want the same thing"
Baskin Robbins Scott is part of the tower!
Baskin Robbins Scott falls and says "Sorry, buddy"
Hmm. How was it that Kang was able to telekinetically move Scott and now he asks to take it [oh okay soon after he does in fact take it with telekinesis]
Hehe. Hank's ants are gonna save him?
With such power, it doesn't really seem possible for Ant-Man and the Wasp to take down Kang, at least not directly.
"Holy shit. THat's big!"
Hehehe. Veb. "I have holes!"
Huh. Why does a giant running feel so slow? Are they just emphasizing the thumps against the ground?
Hahaha. "It's never too late to stop being a dick."
Nice. A big version of jump and tap.
Why exactly did Kang need a big version of the multiverse mechanism?
She didn't get nearly as tired as Scott got after his first use of giant
"You.... you talk to ants."
Holy. This is a cool twist. Hank Pym coming in super powerful with all the ants.
Hehe. "My name is Darren. And I am not a dick."
Darren's head looks more natural here.
Huh. Doesn't seem like a great idea to go back. If Kang hitches a ride.
Wow. I did not see that coming. And while this ending is touching, I feel like there should have been more effort to the ants apprehending Kang
Huh. Well that was unexpectedly easy ("Let's go home.")
Credits:
After main title scene, there are three Kang's that are talking and one says he summoned them all. I guess it's kind of interesting that they exiled the Kang of this movie as opposed to just outright kill him.
Post-credits: Loki!
Somewhat different than usual "returns": "Kang will return"

LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS
S1E02 - Three Robots
hehe they completely missed basketball (but I've thought about this philosophically. how fleeting our existence must be in the grand scheme of things)
xbot 3 to 4000
20230604 #1
S1E07 - Beyond the Aquila Rift
i would hate being put to sleep like that. unless it were an emergency. but for travel... who knows might go wrong
this woman is probably the cause of the error... but why
huh okay so this crew member sees through this greta person
20230604 #2
S1E16 - Ice Age
it was a really creative episode. it's interesting they managed to survive the atomic bomb explosions, leading to "success," which was really magical. and then the twist with a coincidental new ape-like species (by coincidental I mean I feel like the chances of a similar ape-like evolution from scratch occurring to be highly unlikely).
20230618
S1E01 - Sonnie's Edge
barefoot and bleeding
the one crew member is shirtless with only the jacket covering her breasts - it's a very futuristic steam punk style
ooo fluorescent body paint
oh nice. I was wondering what kind of announcer would be brave enough to stand down there. though perhaps I figure he could just be replaced. then to my surprised he disappeared.
what a dangerous sport to watch
huh the male "driver" is very conscious compared to the female driver who's more like meditating
wow. absolutely disgusting. it's interesting
"everyone sees what they want to see" (holy shit)
"neat trick. not good enough"
"Are you scared now?" Smile.
20230619 #1
S1E06 - When the Yogurt Took Over
the narrator sounds like Brain from Pinky and the Brain. [yes, it is Maurice LaMarche]
smile. "We... want... Ohio"
20230619 #2
S1E18 - The Secret War
interesting, i didn't know you would have held such a gun by supporting the ammocartridge
(they know we're here) I wonder what the twist will be. I feel like just a zombie short would be... too simple
hmm for them to be flanked from behind seems like bad positioning
ouch, that head slice.
smart. "yes, I can, but I should not"
"Father, please."
Wow. He shot himself. I suppose that saves some pain...
hmm my expectation of a twist didn't work for this episode. rather this episode is more about... I suppose mistakes (the occultist summoning monsters) and bravely dealing with the mistakes (while there are signs of independent thought, for the most part the soldiers follow orders and their mission)

S1E03 - The Witness
the animation style here is really beautiful. so many colors. intense to match the setting
so... when he opens the door and she fusses with the gun, I get this feeling the twist has to do with time travel. interestingly however, it's not quite that and their positions are reversed. actually at the beginning due to the lipstick, I would have thought they were twins but that wouldnt have explained why the lipstick was smeared exactly the same.

wow that was really fast decision making. he had perhaps a couple seconds to choose to shoot to kill his coworker to preserve the realization that having kids is worth it.
20231015
S2E04 - Snow in the Desert
freaky. I didn't expect her to open her eyes like that
I suppose she wouldn't kill him since she seemed to have saved him. perhaps that easily earned his trust which was her plan

Voting. Thus far this person shows a sort of just decision making process.
Ah, I thought that perhaps the way they folded the papers and thrown it in would have keyed him in on who each paper belonged to... but he took matters into his own hands... clever
Indeed. I figured the aim was to kill two in one shot, but why did the one sitting on the post flinch. Did he not know what he voted?
Oh no. Babies.
This guy is so smart. He's definitely not gonna just be sleeping there...
"Every one of you made an 'X'" ('X' means traveling to Phaiden Island)

It seems that the entire planet which is collectively the Swarm has evolved over a time period much longer than the small component species of humans. "release me" (why doesn't it seem to work on Harper)
oh... welp... kind of strange as perhaps there was bugs creatures put in place as a defense mechanism to keep the creature there [either Cthulhu or some kind of eldritch deity] but for such a long time it finally found someone to release ot because.... well whatever trapped it there, why not just destroy it instead of just trapping [20231111: well perhaps in such fiction, it is commonly impossible or near impossible to destroy such entities and so trapping is the next best thing, but the entrance to the prison seems too easy for persons to enter; perhaps the entrance was secure enough against more primitive humans, but with guns and bombs the dangerous creatures blocking the entrance are an insufficient defensive mechanism...; to which I would still ask, why not just seal the entrance entirely]
20231103

Yikes this is so intense.
Why isn't the one soldier affected?
Oh right. He's deaf. (Earlier he was signing with someone else)

20230618

barefoot and bleeding
the one crew member is shirtless with only the jacket covering her breasts - it's a very futuristic steam punk style
