20130223:
This movie was alright. I like Batman: Year One (2011) better.

Instant Comments:
Interestingly, as far as I could tell, none of them actually killed their nemesis.
Batman's so tough.
Lol, stupid SWAT guys kept fighting. Cyborg saves Wonder Woman.
Hehe. "The Justice League is under attack." "By whom?" "By me!"
Superman not so weak against Kryptonite.

Flashdance (1983)

Overview: This movie is mainly about a girl who has dreams to join a ballet company. She's a good dancer, but has no official education.

Jennifer Beals starring as Alex Owens.

20130222:
Unfortunately, the movie has a bunch of fluff, lacks character development, and overall lacks cohesion. On the plus side, the dance scenes are full of energy and fun to watch.

If you like identifying movie references, then you should consider watching Flashdance. You should also consider watching Flashdance if you like watching dance performances. Now if you want to watch a solid, inspiring movie that involves dance, then I would recommend Billy Elliot (2000).

She's a maniac on the dance floor.

Instant Comments:
Classic. "She's a maniac, maniac, on the floor."
Damn. That is intimidating.
Haha. So she changes into something comfortable, but hasn't taken her bra off yet. So just casually takes her bra off.
Huh. That happened so quickly. It jumped from "Don't you want some pizza?" to the two face-to-face.

She can learn simply by watching others perform.

Huh. It's gonna be like his sister or something?
Hahaha. They make up and the workers cheer.
All the dancing is good, but either the acting, story, or dialogue can be pretty cheesy.
What!?! She learned to breakdance!?!

This movie had some good laughs and a good plot, but I was mostly unimpressed with the acting. Note that I don't mind Adam Sandler's style of humor, I just feel the movie sometimes lacked the right delivery.

20130202:
I didn't know what to make of the film as it started, but I know it was enjoying to watch and I loved the movie as a whole. Ryan Gosling did a good job, but I was much more drawn in by Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson's characters.

I also love the happier pieces of music in the movie. I feel like the same sound has been used in other movies as well, but I like the sound, so I don't care.

Overall, the movie wasn't as funny or charming as Sleepwalk with Me (2012), but it was more linear and dramatic. I recommend you watch Lars and the Real Girl at least once.

Instant Comments:
Hahaha. Hahaha. Hahaha. He throws the flower away.
Haha. The doctor took the doll's blood pressure. "Her blood pressure's low." Smart doctor. Knows how to be subtle and observe the situation.
Haha. "She likes kids."
Ha. "Does she have a sister."
Right... he's projecting.
I like how they gave the female co-worker a supportive nature. Actually the females are more supportive than the males on average.

Oh wow. It makes so much more sense at the 58 minute mark.
It's so heartwarming to have the community getting into it.
I'm thinking the doctor should communicate some sort of progress to the brother and his wife.
Oh wow. After Emily Mortimer yells at Ryan Gosling, which is great, with her crackling voice, that's such a moment. Well first I was afraid for her with his swinging the axe around.
Then his brother walks in and there's a moment that goes on there.

I love the happy type of music playing at the 1 hour 22 minute mark. You get the piano with a sort of staccato string instruments plucking over it. Very upbeat and happy sounding.
OMG. At the 1 hour 24 minute mark. That's so special. At least my interpretation of the moment. But I don't know how much the girl knows how special that moment is.
"Call 911!" Hehe. I mean it sort of makes sense.
Strange how everybody is taking the news. Its like she became part of their lives as much as she became a part of his.
The happy music starts again at the 1 hour 42 minute mark! Violins.
A different song with flute and bass.

The Lorax (2012)

20130202:
This movie was enjoying to watch. It was filled with action and lots of fun.

The Lorax (Danny DeVito)

However, this movie has some poor reviews and many people have complained that the movie doesn't capture the essence of the book. Since I haven't read the book, I can't relate with this complaint. I could only enjoy the movie for what it was.

Three related points:
1) It is fair for someone to make a review within a certain frame, but the review may not extend outside of the frame. For example, the statement "this movie is bad because it was not as good as the book" is applicable to those who've read the book and are concerned with an accurate reproduction.
2) A person's perceptions and opinions are affected by their cumulative experiences.
3) Don't just look at the numbers (e.g., 6.4* out of 10 on IMDb.com). Instead, read what the reviewers are saying. For example, someone gives a knife block 1 out of 5 stars, but says "I love the type of wood used and the quality is top-notch. Unfortunately, it only holds 15 knives and I wish it held 20."

Ted (Zac Efron)

Reiterating, I enjoyed the film. It was fast-paced, I liked the musical numbers, and it was also funny.

If you're looking for a movie full of Dr. Seuss rhymes, then you won't get it here. But if you're just looking for a solid children's 3D animation, then you should check this out. However, if you don't like movies that contain environmentalist and/or anti-capitalist themes, e.g., Avatar (2009) and FernGully (1992)], then you might consider passing this movie by.

*6.4 was the rating as of 20190118.

20210123: Today I watched a film with my son. I had forgotten the plot, but there were two or three good songs in it. Furthermore, the movie mostly kept my son's attention for the first two-thirds of the movie.

Grammy Norma (Betty White)

Random comments:
I'm surprised the boy was able to leave on the second day - it's not explained how.
I didn't remember the ending at all, so it was quite a surprise to me with the whole opening of the wall.
Haha Aloysius O'Hare's solo ending in "let it die" was expected but musically it was kind of a break in the song's flow... With that being said, I like the song ("Let It Grow")
It's interesting that there was very few rhyming done in film.
I can't remember, but there were some hilarious moments.

Instant comments:
1: Wow, a musical number for an introduction.
1: The grandmother is awesome.
1: Haha. The jump.
1: I'm loving the pace of the movie.

The Once-ler (Ed Helms)

1: Haha. The big bear carries the small rock and the fish rolls the large rock.
1: Oh my, haha that grandma is cool! (family time is over, ha)
1: Once-ler: Really? Because when a guy does something stupid once, well that's because he's a guy. But if he does the same stupid thing twice, that's usually to impress some girl.
1: Smile. Mission: Impossible theme.
1: Ha. They're playing different games.
1: "The tree falls the way it leans. Be careful which way you lean."
1: Hahahahahahaha. "Let it die." Silly O'Hare. Granted its a funny punchline.
1: "Let it grow!"

Credits:
1: Main credits start with some 3D animation and then eventually transition to 2D artwork as would be seen in a Dr. Seuss book. Credits roll vertically up as the 2D artwork scrolls down.

Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening (2009)

20130201:
Aziz Ansari is funny. Some of his humor comes from his delivery, but that's fine with me. Some people prefer humor that's funny due to the surprise of the joke itself as opposed to the dependence on the delivery. In any case, the special was entertaining.

On a different note, I didn't find his Randy persona as entertaining as his normal persona.

Haha. The text messaging punchline is funny.
Hahahaha. Hahahaha. "I almost slept on that shit." Haha. He has good shock-value with his tone.
Hahaha. Two don't get CDs. Ha!
Hahahaha. It's wrong, but funny. "I'm just saying I could have fucked that kid." It's interesting when stating the obvious statement is funny.
Hahahahaha. Sonic Forest.

Hahaha. "These beats are dope."
Hahahahaha. "Who can top that shit? Who can top that shit?"
Oh shit. Aziz has hops. And a great spoof of R. Kelly.
Haha. "FuckTale." References DuckTales.
Hahahahaha. "You must be this tall to ride Randy's dick."

Sleepwalk with Me (2012)

20130201:
This movie will have a special place in my heart, because I relate with part of its plot. Whether or not I would have liked the movie otherwise is hard to say. I definitely liked the characters and plot as a whole. The movie reminded me of the romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer (2009), except this film was just a comedy and I didn't like it as much as 500 Days. In the end, it is a decent comedy and worth watching at least once.

Instant Comments:
Haha. "Who is dis?" "Who it das."
Ha. The look on her face.
Hahahaha. "Ooo... one more thing. I got the cake on the internet."
We first see him sleepwalking at 8 minutes. "There's a jackal in the road."
Hahaha. DVR'd Wedding Tales and Baby Tales.
Oh shit. Dresser drawer.
Oh my God. So silly looking, the lip-synching.
These characters are interesting.
Haha. "My other job is at Hooter's. Which is crazy cause one of my boobs is bigger than my other boob."
Strange... his dream is being built from his misery. But ultimately, that's what he wanted. That is, he didn't want to be married until he was sure nothing else good would happen in his life. Oh wow. Now that I think about it, his dream was being built from that one line. Ironic.

I mean, in his defense, he did try to hold strong and prevent the situation. But at the same time, he was talking about the fact that he can't get married, because of his profession.
"I said 'No thank you.'" Ha.
But it's true, real-life situations are pretty funny. It's analogous to my experience that music from emotions is pretty funny.
At the 1 hour 6 minute mark, he's in Maryland. At a La Quinta Inn.
Wow. Just wow. Wow.
At the 1 hour 11 minute mark, I have no idea where the movie is headed. It's just so crazy.
I can relate to him finally being able to gain a confidence to say something after having his own independent life.
"I didn't want to hurt you." Yes. I believe it. Wow.
This movie gets a special place in my heart, because of what it was about, and how I relate to it.
